Cebuano here. "Itum" ang gamit namin, and never heard of dagtum. However, there's a similar sounding word which is "Dag-um" which describes the sky/clouds' greyish-blackish color when it's about to rain.

Ps: I'm not claiming it's wrong. But I guess I grew up knowing modernized Cebuano.

Bagong kulay na pangalan yan ah, pati yung lola ko, hindi din niya alam 😅

Dyan ko nalaman yung kulay na kalimbahin means pink. Kasi kung isasalin sya sa wikang tagalog it means "kulay rosas". Sa tagalog kasi kapag wala silang word doon kung anong itsura/kulay/tunog ng isang bagay yun ang itatawag nila.

These are the colors that my grandmother knows. I've learned of these colors first before the tagalog ones. Tbh growing up, I thought my grandma was just being poetic.. 😅 Like whenever she's asked about her favorite color she would say "Pag suotin aki'y gusto yang luntian. Pero sa mata'y marikit ang lila at kahel." ❤ We only used the Filipino version at home for grandma. She didn't really get used to the Tagalog ones. 😊 aww I miss my grandma so much.❤

This is why our national language is Filipino and not Tagalog ❤ And what is known as dialects aren't really dialects because they are full blown languages. I love how linguistically diverse the Philippines is! 🇵🇭💕

Bughaw, Lila, Kayumanggi, Kahel, and Luntian is the only colors in Filipino that I already know, the rest is new to me and never heard of them.

Unfamiliar Filipino Words are really interesting.

EDIT: I started to recheck the definition of Filipino. So technically, Filipino is a standardized word for Tagalog. My thought is Filipino is comprised of Filipino regional languages. So let me illiterate that, Unfamiliar Philippines Languages are really interesting.

In Kapampangan, "Malutu" is used for all reddish colors, Red to Brown to orange to pink. There's probably words for them but I don't know anyone who uses them

Filipino is d generally used language which is predominantly Tagalog. Languages spoken in various regions of d PH are dialects distinct with an ethnolinguistic group of a particular region. I'm from Manila but when I go to Cebu or Davao, I speak to Pinoys there in Filipino or Tagalog & they reply also in Filipino. They won't respond to me in Bisaya coz we won't understand each other. So we should distinguish Filipino from regional dialects coz they differ. 👍
