wait a minute, did you say if the light is closer to the scrim, it's going to be softer?

When the light is closer to the diffusion/scrim, it's going to create a smaller source of light which is a harder light. The further away it is from the scrim, it's going to create a bigger source of light, which will wrap around the model more, esp for a 12x12.

This video is great, the process is comfortable and the teaching is clear! I love it❤

Sorry, The farther the lights are to the scrim doesn't make the light more contrasty, because the scrim is the light source, not the flash heads.

All power to you. I'd love a studio like this and to go full time with my photography. Thank you for the erudition.

The editing on these photos are great man! They look very different from the straight from camera shown throughout the video. I would love to see what you've done during your editing process. Great images!

To remove the red dot in a couple of clicks, follow these steps. Open DaVinci Resolve, go to the Color tab, choose the "Dead Pixels Fixer" effect, select the "Place Patch" mode, click on the dot, and it will remove the red dot from the entire video.

to be honest, i really loved the first lighting setup
in the second, i found the key light was little under
in third setup white BG would have been better choice

Как я обожаю эти ролики, где люди в схемах света используют хрелеон источников и фростраму... ммммм... это то, что нужно простому частному фотографу👍🙂

The yellow cable which is connected to the camera, what is that for?

wow! such great work and thank you for the great insight! One question - in de second light setup the blue gel is not seen on her face because of the other light right? because this look is just awesome!

1:20 isnt that backwards? The closer the light, the harder the appearance. Imagine the extreme scenario, if the bare bulb is right up against the scrim, you'll only have like a 1'x1' circle of diffusion vs if they are far away you get the full 12'x12' of diffused light.

Hello, this is a great informative video. Thank you.

I have a question though. With the first set up - how can one avoid the stripes of light on the top left corner? Can it be done by settings or just turning the light/s slightly away from the scrim? (enough so there is still light behind the scrim but enough so theres no stripes).
