What really differentiates this from the other videos is that you used a continuous light-source instead of a strobe, and you focused just on the lighting rather than taking each photograph. That makes it easy for us to visualize how the lighting changes as you move the reflector around, and see the changes in real-time. Very well-done!

I love how he sounds like it's something easy for everyone to pick up, and not some kind of mystic knowledge that you have to be grateful he shares. I'm grateful anyway.

I've been doing portraits for over 50 years. This is the best YT tut on lighting I have EVER seen.

This is probably the best explanation I've seen so far on YT regarding basic uses of softbox. Very helpful for beginners.

Wow, a complete lighting course in a 15 minute video. Fantastic. I was surprised you didn't include short lighting in there though. Regardless, this is a must watch for any beginner.

A true educator if I’ve ever seen one! WOW! I wish college had been exactly like this! I went to college for fashion and felt completely cheated, because the corse work was so diluted with other crap. I dropped out. I love this video because this is the first time I felt like a student (enjoying) watching a teach, since middle school, 15 yes ago! The model is gorgeous she looks like Victoria Beckham!

Your the only one on youtube who gets this right especially when it comes to short and broad lighting, all others light the shadow side and call the pattern short light with the same light, thanks

Sir, You're amazing, thank you. Just what i needed, instead of other people trying to turn it into a montage, you made it educational. Definitely subscribing!

I really like how you cover and explain the "why" and not just "this is what you do". I really enjoyed explanation and personality...

I liked your style, not heavy on the editing it really made you more real and relatable. Some might say you were too dark but since the focus isn't on you it makes sense. Easy and clear explanations. I took notes thank you!

I don't know who are those jerks who put dislike to this video - this one is one of the best tutorials on portrait lighting, very clear, straightforward and extremely understandable. Thanks!!!

I have to say, I really appreciate this video. There’s so many videos on YouTube, on all different aspects of photography and they can often be muddled and overwhelming. This was clear and informative and simple. I learnt a lot. Cheers 👍
