Bad acting was an essential part of 90s tutorials. I’m almost sure this was intentional. I enjoyed everything about this video.

This is the most perfect tutorial i've ever seen on Youtube and the creation date being more than a decade ago fascinates me.

Clear, concise and generous. You put a lot of work in to this and it shows because I know exactly where to start, and why.

It's a "Fun with flags" kind of humor :)

I do high school reunions and I always use 2 lighting strobes at 1:1 ration at F/10, ISO 400 & 1/125 shutter speed with a Canon 5D Mk IV and Sigma F/1.4 50mm Art lens. Fix lens are the best for portraits.

OMG, THANK YOU SO MUCH! My "professional" commercial photography professor NEVER explained it half as well as you did! I hope this helps me pass my practicum on this very subject later today.

Great tutorial apart from the lighting ratios. For 3:1 lighting the fill is actually one and a HALF stops less than the main. for 4:1 the fill light is TWO stops less than the key light. For 5:1 the fill light is two and a quarter stops less (if my math checks out). And etc etc, the point is you only drop the fill light by one stop (ie. half the amount of light) when the ratio doubles like from 4:1 to 8:1.

The technical information was good but the humor a bit lame.

I use the lighting set up @ 2:30 with a further 2 lower standing upward facing fill lights angled upwards to completely remove any under chin shadows and there is ABSOLUTELY NO SHADOWS AT ALL!!!! I am talking a flawlessly lit portrait setting with no shadowing anywhere and this method has a result that everyone who I have photographed seems to favour, I use the gold umbrella light reflectors that gives a nicely balanced warmer glow to the face ☺️☺️
