Put some covers or blanket over the couch seats, it will reduce your work, and keep it clean, instead of cleaning the couch it self throw the diry blanket in the washing machine And put fresh one on.

That’s why I made it a priority when sofa shopping to buy one with removable, machine washable and dried cushion covers. We have had our sofas for about 8 years now. We wash the cushion covers at least once a month and they still look brand new. When kids were younger and made more mess we used cheap quilts to cover the sofa and wash it even more frequently. It kept crumbs, toys, markers, crayons etc out the nooks and crannies as well. The sofa stayed clean and you just take the quilts off when you’re expecting company. There’s so many things to do to make it easy on you.

Don’t feel alone … my son is 9 and I still deal with this. I’ve decided that when we buy a house and not rent I am dedicating like a basement or storage shed to his “hang out with friends” obviously I’ll do it up … but HE can have this now turned shitty couch that I paid 2 grand for and I will get a couch that I love and he will not destroy it !! And people people it’s not always our kids it’s kids friends … no matter how hard I try to create rules on sleepovers …. Messes still happen !!

Good job! I take the covers off the back cushions and seat cushions and put them in the wash. I put them back on the cushions and let them air dry. That way they don’t shrink. Then I’ll clean the rest with a hand Bissell. Comes out great.

I would highly recomend to use the stuff to waterproof the coaches (made especially for fabric furnitures), after cleansing.
It makes it clean for so much longer, and it doesnt soak in when hou spill a fluid or anything.
The fabric stay the same, but its just maintaining the fabric much better.

Even with removable couch covers the form still gets dirty and bad smells will get in there. The Bissell little green cleaner gets that scent out. I didn't think 8 needed it but with teenagers I sure do. I cannot even begin to explain to you even with a black couch. Yes a black couch which should not stain accidents on my teens behalf happen and yes I do make them clean it up.

If you add alcohol to the shampooer with water only and run it a second time, you will not only rinse the soap out, it will dry faster with no water rings. Ratio is 1 to 1 water to alcohol

No ma’am. Remove those cushions, pretreat them with baking soda and detergent, then let them run for a cycle in the wash—they’re too dirty for the little Bissell. That tool is meant for spot cleaning and that sofa is dirty all over.

As a mom of two toddlers i think I need right now it looks way better than me cleaning my couch with going in my backyard and open the hose and clean oh well, Amazon it is . That is the job to clean i guess my twin girls like dirtying the couch.❤❤❤

I totally understand you. I also own a wet vacuum and have two messy kids and an equally messy husband. We usually have nice blankets on the couch in a similar colour and no pattern (plain grey) so I can throw them in the wash. Nonetheless the dirt is real on that couch. Ew.

This is why I'm going to make covers for my next couch set. Life is hard enough without me having to do this. Ill just remove those covers and wash them... Or get a leather one that's easier to clean 😁
