I'm so pleasantly surprised by this. When I first heard about the rise of Protestant conversions to Orthodoxy in America, particularly among Evangelical Christians, I thought it was all just an overblown story but I keep hearing more and more about this growing trend. It makes perfect sense though as I strongly believe that people are sick and tired of seeing Christianity slowly but surely being watered down in the west with Protestant Church leaders constantly kowtowing to the culture of the day. The Orthodox Church is just about the last Church standing that refuses to compromise its doctrine to appease the world. America you are on a good path if your people continue with this trend. I'll make sure to pray for more converts.

Dear Father Mackey, Thank you for the explanation of the difference and "schism" between these two churches. I am a "cradle Catholic' and raised in the Western Church. Five years ago I was introduced to the Eastern Orthodox church and have been in love with the Devine liturgy ever since. While I can't or am not ready to 'convert" I do enjoy going to the Orthodox church regularly and being immersed in the overwhelming presence of God and Jesus Christ. The filoque in the creed has always been a stumbling block for me but your explanation made it so clear and now I under stand that. Your explanation of the "Immaculate conception" was perfectly clear also. Praise God that you made this video and answered so many of my questions. While I probably will die a western Roman Catholic I will adore and appreciate the ability to attend the Eastern Orthodox Devine Litergy and experience that church also. I will add you to my prayer list Father Mackey!! Thank you!!

We Catholics DO NOT IN ANY WAY believe that Apostolic Succession only comes from St. Peter. We firmly believe that it comes from ALL the Apostles.
