Kyle is in Colorado with the 2022 Tesla Model X which is the long range, all-wheel drive variant. This vehicle is equipped with the standard 20" wheel and tire package and has less than 10,000 miles on the odometer to keep it a pretty fresh car!

"it's about 98 to 100 degrees right now" Kyle says in a hoodie, lol I love it. Great video as always.

That is absolutely crazy that the Model X had the exact same efficiency(~281 Wh/mi) as the Model 3 Performance. I can’t stress enough how significant that is.

I think you should get an award for non stop talking the whole time 😂😂😂 great video.

280W hours per mile is pretty incredible. Given that my 2018 performance model three with 20 inch tires averages 300. Just shows how efficient Teslas have become in only four years.

Kyle, do you have a spreadsheet or a post that lists out all of your tests? I just would like to see what capacities you (and crew) have run the vehicles through. I have a 2020 MS performance, and 324 at 100% (estimated) and am curious if I could achieve the 330+ miles as I can easily achieve less than 280 watts/mile on highway runs. Also looking at bolts and and E-trons as well. Thanks in advance, just a nerd wanting to see numbers. PS hope the Plaid is on the road sooner than later!!

I was literally wondering this week when you were going to test the Model X. I can't wait to watch.

If my memory is correct, you range tested IX in efficient mode. Based on my 1000 mile driving experiences with IX, I feel in more time efficient mode uses one motor. Don't know for sure, just my feeling. That may experience why IX out ran EPA estimation by 60+ miles.

True test is Los Angeles to Las Vegas/ driving on average 75 - 85mph and up/down elevation. Currently only 400+ range EVs can make it nonstop.

Now that the MX starts at $80K does that change your opinion on which is the better value? Also which would get you to 600 miles faster on a road trip? Just sold my MME and looking at both. After having a CCS car, pretty sure I’m going Model X. Thoughts? Love all you guys do!

Great job Kyle!!! This should be a wake up call for Tesla. I don’t think anyone spending ~70% more for Model X over a Y wants similar range. X is 130 grand, Tesla flagship. drivetrain efficiency means not many extra cells to get X to 400. should be at least the same range as Model S.

Not advocating a mileage range race, but Tesla needs to set a range standard for their premium car.

I really like your personal channel, btw. Really enjoyed the VW Jetta GLI content. Thank you

Another great range test analysis from Kyle Connor! Thank you! I prefer BMW iX M50 for reasons Kyle cited (i.e. smooth ride, QUIET, luxurious feel, ~$15K less expensive) but Tesla’s performance wins, if that’s a key buying feature.

You state full charge range of 351 but Tesla websites states that the long range MX, 20" wheels with 6-seat interior provides 348 miles on full charge. 351 miles is only available on 5-seat configuration, 20" wheels.

It would be better if there was only 1 EPA testing protocol, and not 2 and letting OEMs to reduce the range value of the test.
All cars should be able to achieve a similar percentage of the EPA highway range on your test. And yes, all OEMs should publish all the EPA values. 🤷‍♂️

Tesla: "I am No.1, so why try harder?" 😏
BMW: "O RLY?" 😋

you could also have pushed the BMW IX M60 even further you had still almost 50% power available on that test means you could probably have went another 5-10 miles. Bmw usually have a pretty big bottom butter.

The battery in the refresh S/X is smaller than previously.
So don’t assume you’d get much more from a fresh pack.

Nice Job Kyle, You always make Sure the Test are FAIR. ... I Like your line : " I don't care what it is, I Just want to Know what it Does. " I did expect a little bit more Range on this X. Thanks for the Video. 😁
