I agree-I absolutely HATE the gear shift on the screen. After 4-5 months of driving, it’s still an annoyance. I also dislike the fact that the AC vent controls are only on the screen now. Both are very distracting. (Also- the honk location is bad- I’ve accidentally honked several times). But all the other upgrades from the previous models are great.

Thanks for the video. I own a Model S and I agree with you. The absence of the gear stalk could cause an issue with changing directions quickly in situations like parking lots... Also lack of 360 view is a disappointment.

Model X owners report concerns with road noise at high speeds even with the refresh model.. do you have any thoughts on that?

I hope he knows there ARE secondary controls for shifting gear positions.
Not super easy to operate but there in the forward part of the center console (just under the phone chargers).

I just took delivery and found another way to shift down by the hazard lights.

Do not purchase this car unless you are willing to spend tons of repair fees. TESLA'S BUILD QUALITY DOES NOT LAST UP TO 4 YEARS. I've owned one for 4 years and a bit, and after their short 4 year warranty period, everything starts breaking down. I've had to replace the battery that starts the car up (not the actual batteries the car runs on), the keys because it just randomly stopped working and lastly had to replace what they call a Central Body Controller. This controller is responsible for detecting the Tesla keys which stopped working right after I just got my keys replaced. They said the transmitter within it had broken down which means the build quality on these dont even last for 4 years. All these were placed within one year right after the warranty and cost up to $5k which includes your time taking it to get fixed..

You are correct, the blinkers become very easy to use in time. I was cussing at first. The real weakness is the phone charger. Doesn’t do much.
