I've seen a few people who looked relatively green compared to normal. I think that is all it was.

This is all based on a misunderstanding. The children were Graine (tanned)…not green. They we’re probably Welsh or Cornish. This happened during the Civil War between King Steven and Empress Matilda when armies were travelling all over Britain.
