I read about this in an article in a book years ago but this time it was Spain and the green children came out of a cave and said their place they lived was always dark

Hunh? I've researched this and read the full transcripts of BOTH accounts... and some of what you presented here is.... spurious.

1: we DON'T have dates for the event in EITHER account. The reign of King Steven or his successor DOES seem to be the right time period, but we don't have an explicitly defined year for the event.

2: neither case of it being recorded was at the time it happened.

3: At no point did they actually claim to have lived underground. What they claimed was that they'd grown up in a place where they never had direct sunlight.

Also, some of the specific details you mentioned about the way they looked are modern embellishments.

The two children where from Belgium that's why they didn't speak English their was a lot of Belgium people moving to England in the 12th century there parents use to dye wool that's why they both had green skin when they moved to England they where both separated from their parents and wondered for days looking for their lost parents living of wild berries and mushrooms until they fell down from hunger and exhaustion in Woolpit
