I take 500mg/day based on a recommendation from my dentist years ago. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables and have very good dental hygiene but my gums bled a lot. The vitamin C stopped that. About a year ago I stopped taking it and within a week my gums were bleeding again, just from brushing! Resumed the vitamin C and that all stopped.

It’s always better getting your nutrition from food. And vitamin C is really easy to get, all fresh fruits, and veggies that are not over cooked has it. Plus you get lots of other goodies, phytonutrients, you won’t get from supplements.

I prefer to take mixed berry powders. Better that than tasteless forced strawberries going furry in your fridge.
Maybe there's a case for adding them to overnight oats or other prepared foods to preserve shelf life? Who knows?

I take Ester-C 500mg, it’s a gentle, less acidic version of Vitamin C, easier on the stomach. I take that in addition to a multivitamin.

I take it because Vitamin C is necessary for Iron to be fully absorbed.

I like the chewable as well. I don't take it every day but when I've been around a lot of sick people then I start taking it.

Yeah, scurvy. It’s why you always get a lemon wedge with fish, a nod to the past when sailers were vitamin c deficient.

I take vita C daily. I do notice healthier gums. When I forget to take for a while, gums start bleeding, and I get deep pockets around my teeth.

Does natural vitamin Cs work too? For protein synthesis and all?

Things like canyene pepper and African star apple are said to contain lots of vitamin C, can I replace supplements with them?

Vitamin C has some antihistamine effect. It's not going to replace Benadryl but it helps me during hay fever season.

You do take a vitamin C complex... The asorbic acid / vitamin C that you buy at Walmart ...the tablets they are actually made from black mold from corn

Tons more vitamin c in the Peel of the lemon 🍋 than in the juice. Put lemon zest on your breakfast cereal with ither fruits.

Doesn't hurt JIC. Don't take it before you workout or 4 hours after your workout because it can blunt muscle protein synthesis so the current research says. Probably change next week tho who knows 🤷‍♂️
