Was very short and didnt do the attractions justice, blackpool tower is built on a building which itself has many attractions and Ballrooms, Circus, etc. before you get to the actual tower there used to be access above the glass deck in the tower where you could go nearer the top. The other notable Attraction is The Blackpool Sandcastle Waterpark which I think is The biggest indoor waterpark in the uk I first went in its opening year (1986). Another honerable mention and tradition is the Blackpool lights Festival every Autumn since 1879 for 66 days and consists of the seafront being lit with coloured light representing pictures, there are carnival floats. people would come from all over to drive through

Being born in Blackpool I'll just say that hundreds of millions is being spent to bring it into the future and its gonna be really good for the tourist. 20 million a year come here but you step off the main strip and it's "Smackhead Central".

I went to Blackpool with a girlfriend once, from Manchester. We walked along the Golden Mile, walked back. Bought some whelks. Went home.

Trams are electric powered, they don't need fuel, they're constantly plugged in with that wire.

Blackpool may not be the prettost/scenic town on Englands coast, but if your after entertainment for children (beach/funfair /indoor attractions)or adults (pubs&clubs) it takes some beating.
The council has pumped money into the promenade which is much improved.
And I like the idea of seperating it into 3 area's.
North shore I believe is gonna be the older clientele.
Central is gonna be party central (bars&restaurants)
South shore (near the funfair) is gonna be family oriented.
Good luck Blackpool with the regeneration.

Blackpool shares its name with Dublin (gaelic for blackpool)

My family used to holiday in Blackpool every year, my grand parents had a static caravan in St Annes some years it would get very hot and the beach would be covered with people or picnic in Stanley Park. Its a myth that we dont get sun. In the 80s they had the Dr Who exhibit. the other 2 resorts along the coast were Morcombe and Southport

Blackpool was the UK's most popular resort town 50+ years ago. However, as you remark in your title to this video, this rundown town has indeed been sick for several years.

Blackpool is in the Northwest of England, ?and it’s a💩hole of a place full of vastly overpriced attractions.
I live a 45 minute drive away from Blackpool and the last time I went was 15/20 years ago.
