Wow. The title threw me off guard. This truth bomb transcends minimalism. You are truly pioneers in the epoch of intentional living; edging ever closer to Buddhism. I have found myself yearning for experiences, due to the fact they are something not yet had thereby offering me solace in the face of unhappiness in the now. Although I know and believe that contentedness is a state of mind, I find it so difficult to truly be contented when I think of the possibility of not having the experiences I have envisioned for so long. Trips not yet taken. Places not yet seen. Mountains not yet climbed. If you asked me what my biggest fear is, I would say second to losing my partner, living a life unfulfilled. I guess until this moment, I envisioned a life fulfilled as being full of rich experiences and unforgettable memories. I recognize these experiences, especially if shared with loved ones, can lead to joy and a feeling of accomplishment. However, I now realize that fulfillment shouldn't be pursued, as there will always be a something not yet gained, whether physical or metaphysical. Thank you for your words of wisdom and for giving me yet another perception to ponder.
