That was in what if, there's another answer in the main timeline (I know they're calling it 616 now, but it's been from the beginning). In the Avengers: Assemble, just after Tony let's go of the nuke, JARVIS deploys flaps as a last effort to slow down Ironman and save Tony before losing connection with the suit. Though Tony made it back through the portal, these flaps did not appear to. It was always my understanding that Thanos found at least one of these amongst the debris of his ship. Like every other piece of Stark tech we've seen, the flap probably had the Stark Industries logo on it, even if very small. In Endgame we see the advanced tech 2014 Thanos had on his ship, so I'msure he had a compositionlal analysiscarriedout on it. So, when Thanos sees Ironman on Titan, he recognises the suit design of the man who destroyed his army.
