How did Thanos know Tony Stark?

There’s a deleted scene in the dvd bonus footage that has this exact scene, it goes like this:
Thanos: Stark
Tony: you know me?
Thanos: I do, i know your soul.
This is after he acquired the soul stone on Vormir, in the comics the soul stone grants it’s user control and knowledge of every soul that has ever existed and will ever exist, he can also create and destroy them.

Doesnt make sense, he prob didnt saw him and even if he did he wouldve only saw an armor without knowing the name "Iron Man" or Tony Start
