Salt anything seems to be among the best "general use" addition to a weapon next to just going Mighty. Since arrows can't be "Mighty", Salt is the next best choice. Mighty Balck Ox crossbow + Salt Arrows (+ maybe the Feather hat?) is a brutal combo for pretty much anything.

That’s true but in seriousness the best weapon is the salt morning star with fire ant shield. You could try using a salty broodmother club, but it might swing too slow to really get any damage off, or at least perform any better than the morning star

The best weapon can be said in one word Splatburst but you need around 20 so you need to wait for eggs to respawn

Y'all are all wrong. Rusty spears 9 of them at level 9. 2 mighty, 2 salty, 2 mint, 2 spicy and 1 sour. This when throw with crit build you'll basically end anything in the game after throwing all 9
