The Dumbbell Turkish Get-Up

preview_player
Показать описание
The Turkish get-up tests and advances the margins of our capacity to stand from the ground by adding a single-arm load. Coordination, balance, flexibility, and strength are all challenged with the practice of this movement. Move slowly and deliberately at first until the positions become familiar. Then, strive to perform the movement smoothly with a fluid transition between each position.

I've only seen people in videos doing this with the weight in the right hand. Wouldn't you need to switch sides each time, in order to work both sides of the body evenly?

This exercise looks like it's easier/more comfortable to perform with a dumbbell than a kettlebell, because you don't have it leaning against your forearm

When I do it I just refuse to use my other arm. Is that bad? I basically lay on my back and stand without using my arm and then switch
