Listeners will gain insight into Hutchins’s advocacy efforts, including her testimony at local and national levels in support of gun rights. She also talks about the unique workshops she has developed for women, such as “How to Protect What You’re Expecting” and “Prepare in What You Wear,” which aim to empower women through education and practical skills.

The conversation also touches on the broader implications of gun rights and personal safety in today’s society, highlighting the importance of the Second Amendment and responsible gun ownership. My dad went overseas once but before he left, he showed my mom how to use a 1911 Colt .45. One night some guy tried to come in through the bathroom window, but he didn't like the .45 pointing at him so he left. My mom was a 5 ft. 5" bad-ass.

Mine refused for 60 years…then she had a day at the range. She now has her CCW, and loves training.

I grew up in a rural farming family in the Philippines. In the interior office room of our ancestral house, a rifle stood behind one door panel. A shotgun stood behind the other panel. Ammunition boxes lined the top bookshelves at the right. When you live 30 mins from the police station, it's only reasonable.

I think one of the MOST IMPORTANT statements which was said in this interview is:
"You ARE the FIRST responder". Not the police, not the firefighter, not the EMT, YOU.
If that is as simple as dialing 911 or with armed response, YOU, the individual ARE the FIRST to RESPOND to any emergency you happen upon.
This is something that needs to be conveyed and stressed as point #1 in any type of self-defense broadcast.

Mine refuses because it will ruin her illusion of living in a democrat utopia where nothing bad happens. I am slowly opening her eyes.

My girl said yes. I married her yesterday. We went to the range and shot for over an hour in 90 degree heat after we signed the marriage license. Yessir!

UK. No firearms.

But a moment came to mind.

A lady was in her car, wouldn't start, battery dead.

I advised I'd push and explained how to bump start but she stopped me and said "I know". I replied "ok" and proceeded to push, along with her brother.

She didn't know. Then humbled herself and asked again.

An unnecessarily elongated process.

Never heard of Jerah, but I LOVE the heck out of her. So dang bright, and kind of funny (without trying to be). She's spot on, regarding the facts that she cites. She KNOWS what she's talking about.

The more we can advocate for informed and responsible gun ownership, the better prepared we are to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Well recently my niece had a scare while her husband was at work, a wacko strung out on drugs had some kind of freakout in her backyard. We had talked about this before and I told her that IF she wanted a pistol for defense I would pay for it but she had to pass 4473. Well she took me up on this and she now owns a S&W MP 9EZ. I told her to make visits to the range to shoot it regularly so she feels comforable with it. That she doesn't do. But she does do something I strongly recommended. I told her to unload the pistol and when she is alone with husband at work and kids at school I told her to train herself to never touch the trigger, i.e. keep the "booger picker" out straight when she handles the pistol. To my surprise that she did. All weekend, she trained herself to pick up the pistol but NOT touch the trigger. She called me and said that now without even thinking about it she automatically keeps the trigger finger out straight. I couldn't be prouder of her.

My late wife was a vegan when I met her. She never did end up eating meat, but she did clear our house with my beretta once when she came home to an unlocked and partially opened door. She even cleared the attic! Super proud of her.

The thing is we the people abdicated the responsibilities that come with the right to bear arms. We have let the military bear the responsibility for our protection, and as a result our rights are under threat. Not saying the military is bad, only that the best way to protect our rights is to return the responsibility for the security of a free state to the people.

I am a woman. I have been trying to advocate to women for years to get training and experience. I don't understand why women and LGBT people - people who are biologically smaller with less muscle mass, and people who by their own definition are a minority and subjects of violence and hate- why the hell wouldn't a minority want protection??

My daughter is 21 years old she's been shooting handguns ever since she was 12 she was shooting long guns when she was 6 years old the classic 22LR I bought her her first 243 Remington bolt when she was 15 years old. When she turned 19 years old and went to college, Dad got her a Sig 365 XL.

Proud of you Jerah. Especially liked the discussion on submission. Definitely has a bad connotation to it, and I enjoyed hearing an empowered female articulate and spread the true meaning of that word. A man should always be bettering himself, because if he can't lead himself then how can he lead a marriage and why would a woman follow and submit.

My daughter is fixing to start working in Austin, and she’s about to have a driving culture shock from SC.
She has a pistol, but she’s not sure where she’s going after Tx. She’s a traveling Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Colion, I appreciate how even with the knowledge you have, you give the other person to speak and tell their story / experience with full engagement and understanding from yourself.

When me and my wife first got married she didn’t own a firearm but now she has a Khar CW9 and she has shot more people than me with all four of my deployments combined. Everytime someone was trying to rob her or snatch the gun from her. We haven’t been to the range in a while but I live in Irving, Texas now and plan to have a date at the range sometime soon
