I did some math of my own on this, and when that aura forms around him, it's because he's moving at speeds over mach 10. When you reach a certain speed, the kinetic impact alone has as much force as a nuclear weapon detonating. When he hits a building at those speeds he's creating detonations of 1.5 megatons with every impact. That's a blast radius of just over half a kilometer in radius every time he goes through a solid object.This is great scene just because it illustrates how absolutely and horrifically destructive flying bricks like Superman, or Homelander could be if they ever cut lose for real.

He was there for months in their time, but we the audience are seeing it in real time. There's also the fact that Nolan's Perception of time is skewed as hell as explained in later episodes when he recalls his first date with Debbie as a "few years ago" when in reality it was 2 decades. Man has no chill.

I like that they give omniman moments to cut loose so you can see how powerful he actually is. So strong he can hold a boukder the size of a large house with one hand casually with no effort and so fast his flight causes nuclear explosions from the air friction.

Worst part was that the destruction we've seen was day one. He was there for at least months to years before he escape and those engineers/scientists were freshly damage. So that means he let them build up just to kill them again until they finished the machine.
