I fill my Le Creuset with water and dump a couple spoonfuls of baking soda in. Put the pot on the stove and heat on low for 60 to 75 minutes. Rinse and dry.

While I respect ATK;
I would absolutely NOT add this bleach solution to my Le Creuset pot.
The bleach will etch the finish and make the pot harder and harder to clean over time. I will not use strong bleach solutions on my commodes or cast iron tubs for the same reason.
My Le Creuset is 25 to 30 years old, and they still have that beautifully glossy finish that is easy to clean.
After a hot soapy soak, a soft paste of dish soap and baking soda will do the rest. If I have a real problem, I use the Le Creuset enamel cleaner. The stuff works like a dream.

Bar Keepers Fiend works great for this.

I started using my 10 year old Dutch oven about 2 months ago. I use it almost everyday now.

Dishwasher machine dishwasher has oxygen bleach, anything you want to remove stains from (mugs, plates and Dutch oven, etc) use hot water and dishwasher machine soap, leave it overnight and boom, sparkling.

I left the lid faced down on a plate while still a little wet and when I picked it up after a few hrs after, it left a rust stain on my plate.

The stain onthe plate was removable. I didn't know it rusts that easily on the part that didn't have enamel on it. So now, I dry it as soon as I can .

Barkeepers friend keeps mine looking great. Also don’t let it get that bad before you clean them.

Bleach will denature proteins, but it is an alkaline so it is less effective on carbon build up. Something like vinegar or citric acid would work better for that. I like using an alkaline for the oily cleanup and then follow-up with an acidic cleaning to remove mineral (carbon, lime, etc) build up.

I bought a brown-stained one at an estate sale for $5. The owner had obviously browned a lot of meat in it, and nothing has gotten it clean. I've tried everything suggested (plus some rogue ideas) with minimal improvement.

Jeez the other comments are hating. I think this is a perfectly useful tip! Thanks ATK!

why do you have to have a creamy white pan bottom? it works very well if it is brown

Stains are badges of honor :) I love that! Same applies to great books, sports gear and even your own body!

Hear me out bleach breaks down the glaze, malic acid and critic acid are more controllable than bleach

We clean ours with vinegar and baking soda works perfectly well, then wash it out with dish soap.

My flame colored Dutch oven has stains on the exterior like yours but not as bad. I’ve tried everything and can’t remove them. The inside still looks like new.
