Or simmer water with a spoonful of baking soda, the staub booklet mentioned that & it worked really well

For you people wanting to know how to bring your Tri-Ply Stock Pan bottom back to life after you see a blue or discolor at the bottom after cooking — just fill the bottom layer with cold water and add some distilled vinegar and let it sit for 2-4 minutes in the pan and then rinse it out and it’s back to brand new. I been doing this to my Calphalon stock pot pan and my xtrema cookware for years and they all look brand new just like they did day 1.

For the more irritating burnt residue: add some baking soda with the water around the time of boiling.

A little white vinegar in the boiling solution works like a charm, too.

A bit of warm water mixed with sodium percarbonate and having a cup of tea works well, too.

You can also add soap to the boil to help it come off a little easier

I bured something once in a pot. I tried everything. Soaking .scrubbing. boiling. chemicals. Mom kept saying: just put it outside in the sun(i can't remember if it was spring or summer. Our springs are warm and dry and our summers get really hot and humid but sometimes gets the dry spells- we call them eastern winds) i think it was really hot outside but kinda dry. I said but then it would just burn it more! How would that help?! When i finally gave up after a few days, she said just put it outside! Fine! It's toast anyway... i put it outside for a couple more days and watched the burned stuff peel off gradually and the pot was good as new! Don't believe me? Try it.

After boil water and scraping add 1:1 water and peroxide, simmer covered for 20 minutes. Clean and sparkling white again.

I’m proud of figuring this out on my own

Hot water and dishwasher detergent. Boil. Cool. Probably won't need to scrape or scrub at all.

These days I’d suggest a smaller loop chainmail scrubber. Absolutely perfect.

I avoid using my Dutch oven because no matter what I cook the bottom gets stubborn stains. There needs to be a better solution than the enamel finish.

Hot soapy water, throw a dryer sheet in there, let soak. Comes off a lot easier.

Make sure you wash the hell out of it after, though.
