Our purpose in life is the anchor of our mission. Until we know God’s purpose for our lives in Jesus Christ, we will not find the fullness of life that will satisfy us. Until we connect ourselves to Christ, we will not discover that making disciples of all nations is our purpose and mission. Remember that a true believer is a disciple of Jesus, and a disciple is a committed follower of Jesus who honors Him and makes disciples who will make disciples. #CCF34

It’s called the great commission because it was given by the greatest person who ever lived?? Really?? Jesus said a LOT of things that we don’t call The Great Commission.

Jesus actually called something ELSE the great commandment. (Commission means command) and Jesus also called something else a New Command.

The term GREAT COMMISSION came about in the 1700s for a missionary push to bring the gospel to the nations and had nothing to do with this idea of making disciples per se.

The Great Commission is mans invention and misunderstanding of the point of what Jesus said.

Jesus was talking to Jews. Salvation was only for Israel up until the resurrection and so to these Jews He said “now go and make disciples of THE WHOLE WORLD” in other words salvation was no longer restricted to Israel!
