So I learned how to float like this last week! Here's exactly how I did it. I used two floaties (those little foam boards) and put them on my back, removing one by one while I calmed down. The most important part is to relax. You will NOT be able to float if you start to breathe fast, tense up, or tilt your head towards your chest. I'm just like everyone else, it feels weird having water go into my ears because it tickles and fear water going into my nose. You pretty much have to breathe clamly, and stay in place and trust me you will not sink or get water past your ears. I'm 23, 5'9 and I learned in a five foot pool. Hope that helps someone in any way!

Why do they always tell us to relax? It's really annoying! How can we relax when we are sinking? We can only relax when we can float. These videos don't really teach us how to float at all. They just show us what to do to float.

I've always tried to float in water but I kept lifting my head so my hips and legs kept on sinking but now that I've watched this video I've learnt how to keep my head down so now I can float.THANK

I legit sink to the bottom of whatever i'm in, I basically do everything she is doing in the video and I still sink lmfao

I find that some people seem to float much easier. Particularly people with higher fat content

See this is my problem I can do this by the wall but the issue you see comes when ever I go more than 6 inches away from the goddamm wall I get scared due to the fact that I've almost drowned several times as a young kid

well, I learned this about 3 years ago and I am13 this is very relaxing believe me there is nothing in water better than this. it is so relaxing to float on your back in the swimming pool and watch the sky. its like you have nothing other than this in the world.TRUST ME TRY IT ONCE.

hmm you have a point and i guess the normal momentum of the body would keep you down as opposed to dead weight.

I think I will buy a waterproof case for my iPad, but am wondering if the the 3G Or 4G signal will be strong in the Water.

The main reason people aren't able to float is because they are tense and not relaxed. The muscles of dead people are completely slackened. Also, gases, which are lighter than water, build up in the dead body after a few days, causing it to float.

relax is the key, get over the fear of water and u can relax. u can try at water depth around ur waist first, bcuz u still can float and wont die if u even sink since u can stand on time. once u be able to overcome fear by this method, u can practise float on deep water. (i learn by myself floating when i was 5yo and now i can swim and float). sometime when im tired swimming in deep pool, i will just turn my body around and float like a leaf on water (no time limit). then continue swim again. u can even read book or do any activity with ur hand while float.
i cant tread water for long time, so float mainly come in handy since no energy used at all. i tend to float everytime after swim @ tread water.

Nice job on the tips. I know that my biggest challenge is staying relaxed in the water. Once I get pass that I will be ok.

I have problem if someone can help, when i float i have a neck pain this is not good feeling i feel like my head weight is 50 kg :/
