I honestly kind of mourn the loss of kid makeup kits. The cheap glittery eyeshadow and lipsticks were so cute, and now kids are going to grow up believing they need to drop hundreds on actual products.

We need to bring back "You break it you buy it" rules. Start calling the cops and demand parents pay for anything their kid damaged. Where did those rules go?

The phrase “Gen Alpha Influencer” is so hilarious to me because when you hear that phrase you’d think it’d be kids doing toy reviews, not makeup/skin care hauls 😂

The woman saying Sephora is for kids is SO delusional. It's a MAKEUP store that also sells perfume and skincare, products for adults

This terrifies me, that 6-10 years olds are not just destroying their skin, but their self confidence. I remember working as a teacher's Aide in a Primary school, we had a lot of troubled young girls and I was asked to take a small group of girls and basically do things like skincare and make up and hair with them, like a big sister program in the school. I went and found the gentlest products I could and made sure each girl knew that they were perfect the way they are and that this was just a fun thing to do. I recently saw one of those girls, now a woman and she said those interactions mad her the happiest she had been, and she took the message to heart. She has 2 daughters and they like to play with kids make up and she made a point to tell me it was kids make up, she knew the difference because of what we talked about in those classes.

When I was a kid I remember fully believing that I'd let my kid run wild on the internet because that's how it was for me. Now as an adult, looking back at all the horrible things I got exposed to, and looking forward at what kids are being exposed to now, I have done almost a full 180. I will definitely be an uncool mom and not let my kid stare at my phone all hours of the day.

I think it is fascinating that this adultification of children is happening at the same time as loosening child labor laws 🤔

Not just the individual chemicals, but the "skincare smoothie" thing is just ASKING for a bad chemical reaction on your face. Even innocuous ingredients can be dangerous mixed together...

Maybe if the kids destroy enough merch, Sephora will have to ban children under 13 from entering their stores 🤷‍♀️

As a teenager who enjoys the art of makeup, I’ve never stepped foot in a Sephora. We need to bring back going to drugstores like CVS for teens first makeup. It’s inexpensive and easy to practice with. Also, why tf aren’t parents paying for the things that their kids damage??? Like what????

It’s me again! Update on kids and skin care at my store, corporate now issues us a warning about the Sephora kids and to direct them away from retanol as much as possible. Literally having to say no as much as possible. I’m pretty sure we might have to lock up our drunk elephant products soon LMAO

I saw a mom in five below bring in her 9/10 year old daughter and the daughter’s friend. The daughters kept saying. “I have to go get my skincare!” And then begging her mom to buy her one more thing and saying she’d pay her back the mom kept saying absolutely not. The daughter was being very loud and all these girls wanted was skincare. When I was 9 I wanted my little pony. 😢

My 11 year old niece is like these kids. She won't be told, gets her own way, no accountability for her horrendous behaviour and slaps make up on like she's going out clubbing, wears daisy dukes, posts "dancing" videos on tik tok. I've had to explain to her why she can't use retinol or lactic acid but she's demanding them from her mum, it infuriates my soul.

THANK YOU for pointing out that it’s the parents’ jobs to monitor their kids online. I’m seeing way too many people blaming this phenomenon on influencers and social media. Influencers aren’t paid to babysit just like the Sephora employees aren’t. In my opinion, kids as young as six shouldn’t even have their own mobile device let alone unlimited internet access.

So glad i have the gift of being childless. And childless I will remain. Not because of any inherent hate toward children, but I cannot imagine bringing up a sane individual in this social media-corrupted world.

My kid saw a Sephora kid in the wild while out with someone else. They were getting some eye shadow. This kid’s mom used coupons and still spent $200. At the time my kid was working on how to stay within a budget. They got home, looked at me, and said, “I don’t want to go back to Sephora and have them think I’m a Sephora kid.” I didn’t even know how to respond. Now I think we might watch this video together.

With the mom buying her twins puppies, I'm so scared for those puppies. From what I can tell those are Australian Shepard puppies, and these dogs need a ton of exercise and intellectual stimulation. My heart breaks for those puppies, as I know theyre not getting the care they need. I have two Aussie rescues, and both were not given the care they needed. My older pup, Tucker, was locked in a crate for the first 1 or 2 years of his life, and now he has significant hip problems due to this. He has trouble getting up stairs and he can't jump up on to beds to cuddle. He also gets scared easily, and this is all due to him being an Aussie and needing exercise, but he was too high maintenance for his previous owners.
My second pup, Jett, was also locked in a cage for the first year of his life. He is more energetic than Tuck so his previous owners seemingly locked him up whenever he was in the house. I say this because when we got him he wasn't house trained, and didn't know how to behave in a house outside of a cage. He was also heavily abused, as he cowers from any loud talking, even if its friendly, and cowers from large men. Whenever he's nervous, he hides under my bed or somewhere tight and out of sight.
These dogs are often bought because they are so pretty and cute, which my puppers are too, but their owners don't actually research or care about their needs. I guarantee those puppies will end up not properly cared for, and I hope they find a good home after the family inevitably abandons them. My good boys are now in a great home, a homestead that gives them space to roam and a loving family, and I can only hope the same happens with those two puppies.
Never get dogs as props, and research the needs of a breed before you get them. This just is another reason to hate that mother and the lives she is exploiting.

My mother always said I was growing up too fast and I’m 20 years old now. Now kids are REALLY growing up too fast

Something to clean off the dirt and oil. Something to keep away sunburns. Something to keep from getting flaky and itchy, particularly in the winter. That's it. That's all they really need.
