Going to be very controversial here, and say that I think that the mechanism of why this exercise works is not strengthening of anterior deltoid at all and in fact, if you look at this exercise as an example, the only components that actually works ant deltoid is raising the arm up from the bench and once it gets to the vertical position if it is actually coming from Long, head of triceps lats. I’m surprised as a Physiotherapist that this rehabilitation has been named ant training.
