#TheExorcist: Believer is an upcoming American supernatural horror film directed by David Gordon Green, with a screenplay he co-wrote with Peter Sattler, from a story he co-authored with Scott Teems and Danny McBride. It stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ellen Burstyn, Ann Dowd and Jennifer Nettles.

50 years after the original, 'The Exorcist' is revived with this direct sequel to the first film. Ellen Burstyn is confirmed to return as Chris MacNeil, mother of the possessed Regan and keep your head on a swivel for a potential surprise cameo from Linda Blair. Filmmaker David Gordon Green is planning a trilogy that ignores the existing sequels and series that followed 'The Exorcist' (1973), much like Green did with his 'Halloween' legacy sequels that brought Jamie Lee Curtis back to that franchise. Green, who broke out with raunchy comedies and stirring indie dramas, sees 'The Exorcist' as a brand new challenge. "To me, it's as different as making 'Stronger' and 'Pineapple Express.' ['Halloween' and 'The Exorcist'] are just so unbelievably different. One is very primal and the other is very academic," says Green. Leslie Odom Jr. ('Glass Onion,' 'Hamilton') stars as the father of a possessed child, who seeks out Burstyn's character for support since she's been there, done that. Lidya Jewett ('Vivo,' "Good Girls") plays the bedeviled young daughter, and Ann Dowd ("The Handmaid's Tale," 'Hereditary') plays her nurse. 'The Exorcist: Believer' haunts your local theater in October 2023.

We already have a direct sequel to The Exorcist. It's called The Exorcist 3 and was adapted from William Peter Blatty's novel Legion (which was a sequel to his book The Exorcist). It's a fantastic film starring George C. Scott and Brad Dourif.

I’m just now seeing this video and I felt I needed to give some updates because obviously not everyone knows what is going on. First and foremost, there will be 2 possessed teenage girls in this movie. There will be the young pretty black girl mentioned in this video named lidya jewett who will be playing one of the girls. There will also be a young teenage white girl named Olivia marcum who will be playing the other possessed teenage girl. So this is not going to be a so called woke or black version of the exorcist like some ignorant people believe it to be. There will be 2 parents in this film, a black man and a white woman, played respectively by leslie odom jr and Jennifer nettles. The 2 young girls will be playing school pals who decide to go exploring in the woods somewhere and both are found 3 days later but obviously acting strangely and shortly after things go haywire from there. Yes Linda Blair will make an appearance in this movie but it is not known to what extent. I am waiting for the first official real trailer to come out because I am tired of the ones who are posting the so called concept trailers which contain scenes from other movies.
