I sold my Magic: The Gathering collection back in 2014 to make the down payment on my first house.

I can hear Dave say, "So Ronnie what's your question? How can I help you today?"

Ronnie you are talking to the wrong people about collecting - these two are clueless. But I do agree on the basic premise - better for you to liquidate your collections rather than your clueless kids.

Just because they don’t get it doesn’t mean they need to shame the caller

Why was john like "oh ronnie" and then didmt even know what it was? Lol.

Just from the video title, I'm guessing that's a first edition black lotus. And I feel incredibly nerdy knowing enough to make that guess. 🤓

Why call the show, if you're gonna repeatedly talk over the

If you don’t need the money DONT SELL THEM.

One thing about “collectables” ; they are only worth what someone is WILLING to pay! The younger generation doesn’t want dust collecting “stuff”.

The Gathering card is definitely legit

My husband had some original MtG cards that were first edition. When he went off to college, his mother threw them all away. They were worth $30k!!! Not many people know about MtG but it really is a cool but complex game. My husband tried to teach me but I couldn’t wrap my head around it. I love my nerdy hubbie :)

I feel like ronnie is just bored and wanted to talk about his collection and its worth lol

He’s gotta get that stuff authenticated and graded (PSA for individual cards) and the boxes as well so that there is legitimacy to the item. He should do that now so that when his kids get them they have easier time when/if the sell/consign it.

I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially In 2024, we'll start to see more market diversification. I'm hoping to invest about $350k of my savings in stocks against next year. Hope to make millions in 2024..

Weirdly Dave is actually cooler about weird collectibles than these guys are.

Rudy from Alpha Investments buys whole collections, there is a ton of money in the magic community.

I have the same problem with my MTG collection. It was worth a really nice used car, but now it's worth a nice new truck. I don't need the money and it's just sitting.

The guy loves being surrounded by "stuff" that holds memories only to him. When he is gone his kids won't understand and half of it will end up in a landfill with the other half being unloaded quickly @ 10 cents on the dollar. If he wants this stuff to go to someone who shares his passion for it, he should sell it now.

We had a family friend pass away 2 years ago with a large collection of vintage cars, train sets, grandfather clocks, a vintage pipe organ that came out of a Fox Theater from the 1920s. None of his kids can agree on what to do with it so they all hate each other, hired attorneys, and the only winners are the lawyers involved who are cashing their hefty retainer checks. So sad to watch this.
