BMW Adaptive Transmission Reset (E90, E91, E92, E93, E82, E88)

BMWs Equipped with automatic transmissions regardless of whether they are ZF or GM are what is called adaptive and learn to shift in response to your driving style. Sometimes for any number of reasons they need to be reset. This short DIY video will explain and show you just how to do this yourself. Thank you for watching and don't forget to like and subscribe!

Turn on the ignition but not the engine. Put your foot on the accelerator for minute and this will reset the gearbox. There, saved you 4 minutes

I bought my BMW used a year ago. Always noticed it shifted a bit odd at times especially when I was in traffic. It would shift down as soon as I let off the throttle sometimes aggressively. I was worried I was going to need a new transmission. I did this throttle reset. Runs smooth as can be and much better over all. Thanks so much.

I tried it on my E88 convertible when I thought I had a faulty transmission, but after having BMW test it it came back negative so no faults, however I could feel it didn’t drive as good or just didn’t feel right, so I tried it and it worked for me! Right after it accelerates so much smoother and feels amazing to drive! So thank you so very much! Great video and great fix!

What your actually doing is resetting throttle, readaption of transmission is done with software ie bmw inpa and likes or xhp software

So I just put a new trans in my N54 AT, was curious if I would be getting transmission malfunction if I haven’t changed the vin on it to mine. I’m getting a malfunction once I step on the car but it shifts nice if I don’t

I put in a new transmission and it works completey great, But I have a xhp tune. But the paddle shifters don't work anymore? Any thoughts?

Man am very thankful for your Video, I just but a 320i and I was trying to drive fast and I tried to press full speed but the car transmission was changing very late and I needed to press the pedal just the half if I need a new speed
