This science is out of date. It's going to be much worse and much sooner

"Are we ready for the good news?"

There is none.

Visitor from 2019: you only got 16 years to turn this ship around and world leaders aren't doing squat.

I hate how they always make it about sea level rise. That is literally the least important problem. It will devastate our climate and ecosystems

How, how this can’t be happening I’m only 11 and the world will 😭

This was 6 years ago… now worst case scenario seems much worse and much more likely 😨

these models fail to take into account what happens when its warm enough to rain in antarctica. rain accelerates snow melt exponentially. warmer oceans mean more humidity which means rain. it will be much sooner than 1000 years.

The animals dont need us, we need them.

I’d say it’s all over by 2030. Climate scientists have always been very very conservative in their projections and predictions

The camera work on Johanna is honestly very distracting. I mean one of the best ways to fight climate change is to limit consumption, and they're showcasing the CBC architecture. EVEN if it's green architecture, it APPEARS tone deaf... a better location wouldve have been any natural outdoor location, maybe even a 50m point on Vancouver's shoreline hmmmm?

"The list of pretty great cities goes on."

Good thing none of the great cities will get flooded.

While I believe in climate change, there is no way we will go through all of our fossil fuels over the course of several decades.. Still though things do need to change.

David Bowie said we have 5 years.
And that was 30 years ago.

Even with max volume, the volume is too low. Usually, I only need 50% volume to hear what is said in a video.

A thousand years? I think she quoted wrong.

lol 1000 years sounds like a stretch. More like 30 years, if not sooner.

2:00 When has the United Nations panel not been overly conservative in their estimations again?

This information is wholly incorrect. The melting will happen much faster than they are talking about here. We could see 6ft of sea level rise in just a couple of decades meaning that many coastal ports and beaches will be underwater costing massive financial collapses. You only need to go up a few inches to lose many ft inland water inundations and storm surges and king tides will be far more commonplace. In Florida they are building huge condoes with the roads directly leading to these buildings already under water with flooding happening many times every year. The speed of melting is 600 times faster than previously thought because there is plenty of heat going into the ice from below causing the glaciers to slide into the oceans much faster. Just loosing a few ports will cause major economic collapses and you cant rebuild them further inland because the oceans just keep creeping inland every yr so when you have decided to build a new port it is under water by the time of completion. They have spent billions on New orleans defenses but already they are in doubt it will be enough to stop future flooding as storms become more frequent and severe.
