Muslims feel more connected with Allah when they perform namaz in masjid and more more connected when do the same inside makka and madina & kiss the stone which according to them represent the presence of allah .
In the same way we hindus feel more connected when, we uses idol as a medium to represent almighty god. Idol is not god but yes it represents the holy presence of god in front of us . God is everywhere just you have to open your eyes with heart full of devotion.

Allah is Al-Ghani (The Self-Sufficient) and Al-Aziz (The Almighty), completely independent of His creation. Nothing we do can harm or benefit Him directly. However, idolatry (shirk) is described as a grave sin because it violates the purpose for which Allah created us: to recognize and worship Him alone.

He has clearly conveyed in the Qur'an that shirk is something He disapproves of deeply. It is an act that denies His uniqueness and oneness.

Indeed, shirk is a great injustice.
(Surah Luqman, 31:13)

Allah does not "need" our worship, nor is He affected by disobedience:

If you disbelieve - indeed, Allah is free from need of you. And He does not approve for His servants disbelief. And if you are grateful, He approves it for you.
(Surah Az-Zumar, 39:7)

This means Allah’s displeasure with shirk is not personal but is due to the harm it causes to the human soul and the disruption of divine order.
