God is responsible for the *FACT* of free-will,
humans are responsible for their *ACTS* of free-will.

There’s a difference between knowing what choice a man is going to make and making him make that choice.

You saying that he is outside of time makes soooo much sense, I’m not kidding. I always thought everything that happens in my life is predetermined, so in a way it doesn’t matter what I do with my free will. But saying he is outside of time means that he gave us free will, it’s just he knows the outcome because he isn’t experiencing the same time we are.

That probably made no sense but it makes sense for me. I just can’t write what I got in my head sometimes.

Knowing what will happen is not the same as predeterminism.

God knows everything, but He still gives you a choice to do anything. Enough said.

In my opinion, it really isn't difficult to understand that God knows what we will do, yet He doesn't cause it. Why the confusion?

My son doesn't like salad. If I make salad for dinner, I know that I know he will not eat it.

Can he freely still choose to eat it? Sure. But, I know that he won't. How do I know? I know because I know my son. It's intimacy. Likewise with God.

I feel where this guy is coming from. It took me a while to understand this concept. I understand his frustration.

This is what Calvinists struggle with. My guess is that he's a Calvinist.

This gentleman is making the same mistake so many others make, in a sense, trying to blame God for the decisions of man.
Yes, God knows the end from the beginning, and even gives us the foresight to see why we need Him, but man is still free to make their own decisions. Take responsibility, He gives us all the guidance we need

Some people just can't grasp the idea of God being sovereign without being deterministic. I guess in their mind God can't manage his Creation unless he micromanages everything. The Bible clearly tells us he is wise enough to accomplish his will within the framework he created it which is that he gives creatures limited freedom to do as they will.

Great question and great answer from Dr Turek. When I ponder eternity LIVING FOREVER WITH GOD it blows my mind BUT I surely don't want to grow old and die so I know we have eternity written in our hearts as it is written Ecclesiastes 3 11
He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart,  yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.

We are bound by time, but God is not. That makes this difficult to grasp 😉

I’m not sure if this man was trying to be difficult, or if he just couldn’t understand it.

Foreknowledge does not equal causation. God knew what we would freely choose. Him knowing what we would choose doesn’t mean He caused those choices.

He knew the predestined would accept His gift.💕

In no way does it make God not sovereign

I am thankful that i came out of calvinism. Frank needs more ammo to get that guy to think. God interceeds within time. During the football game, God controls the weather. If a bomb goes off during the game, then the Calvinist God caused that too and the bomber was predestined to do that because of foreknowledge which means pre-ordination. The result of this is God is the author and cause of tour sin. Also, you should not debate this if your a calvinist, you should not even be sad for anything because it is Gods will for everything. This man talking has the same rebuttal of an atheist. The only difference is he puts s deity behind his fatalism. When you do that you create morality and God is by default a monster. Calvinism is untrue. God interceeds for His creation and is not the author of your sin. God works your life towards good. You must Submit and obey for that life to walk joyfully in the Spirit. As a Christian you can either walk according to the Spirit or the flesh. God does not. Desire anyone to perish. God loves you. Atheism and calvinism are tricks of the devil to keep you depressed and to block you from repenting and turning to God. Come all. Come now

God has knowledge of everything you will do before you are born. You CANNOT do anything that contradicts god’s knowledge. Therefore, free will cannot exist.
