I think that the fact you didn't center the magnet caused it to be unbalanced and cause premature wear on the rubber grip. I don't think the magnet lost strength. It is just the rubber grip slipping.

Thats a cool little mount! I was worried that a magnet might have some sort of negative impact on the electronics of the phone but I guess this proves me wrong. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a good product, I very nearly bought one of these a while back. It's neat that it fits into the recess on the back of the case, I didn't want anything sitting proud to the rear surface of the phone and that was the main reason I chose another product. Nice review!

What were your time wait to use the magnet with the ball?

I'm pretty sure if you take a neodymium magnet and just put it on the ball or the back with that other peive then it wll make it stick more, if that makes any sense. They make several different shapes for it, but I would get one to strong or it may mess up your phone.

As a cabdriver ..I ask myself why did it take so long to add this to my toolbox as a cabbie .. less distracted .. less clutter ..not digging in the cubby under the radio looking for my phone or trying to reach it when it falls on the floor ... and another cool thing is selfies with my customers ....

You could have centered the magnet vertically as well on the phone. Better balanced when mounting the phone horizontally.

Its not that your Magnet has lost power, but that your rubber piece has lost its grip.. over time. With both parts of the magnet its amazing power, However this is why I chose to install my phone part in the middle of the phone on the back rather than offset on the side, Center of gravity does not use that leverage / fulcrum, if you just slap it on the center.

I'm guessing that your "weakening magnet" problem is because you've mounted it off center. That primarily, and because that rubber friction piece is starting to wear.

I think you can use a strong magnet to remagnetize your the one on your phone.

wipe both mouth with alcohol pad. Oil from your fingertips and hand has gotten on the mounts.
I bet it will hold as the day you bought it.

You are not using the product as it should be. Obviously, the weight of the cell, is greater at the bottom, because the magnet is stuck in a decentralized part of the mobile. That's why the power has weakened.
