Pixel Watch Review: Google Finally Did it...

For the last two weeks, I packed up my Galaxy Watch 5 and replaced it with the Google Pixel Watch. After years of rumors, they finally released it and yeah, I’ve got a lot to say! This is my review of the Google Pixel Watch.

I am loving mine. I think for a first gen device it's not too shabby. Disabling tilt to wake and hey Google detection greatly helped my battery life.

When Google announced the Pixel Watch, I immediately thought “oh, that’s cool! I can’t wait for the 2nd gen!”

It looks great, and all of the current issues will def get fixed next gen.

After years of an Apple watch keeping me in their ecosystem while I put up with the boring iPhone. I'm now very happy with the Pixel Watch and Pixel 7 Pro combo. The watch is so very fast I couldn't care less the processor is older. If this keeps it under $400 (while still being stainless steel) or helps them profit to justify creating the next generation. I'm all for the smooth experience it delivers.

Also you're call quality experience is your unit. Mine works as expected.

I think the look of the watch is gorgeous. I'm going to wait though and hopefully next year they make a larger version. Also I'd like to see more than 24 hours between charges. I am really liking the Pixel 7 by the way. Thank you very much for your unbiased and fair reviews.

Thao thanks again for another SPOT ON VIDEO!!! You've nailed all the pro and con points of this watch!!! I feel it's a Beautiful design, would've liked it a little bigger but it's not too bad on my wrist!!! For as long as they took to release this I feel like it could've been a bit more thought out and not have some of the missing points you stated. It's almost like this watch was made a few years ago and they didn't release it but decided to release it now. A few years ago this would've been a solid watch but for 2022 it definitely has some missing points. As always appreciate your hard work and dedication to always bringing fresh, entertaining, and informative videos. Honestly becoming My TOP Reviewer!!! Knowing you have a Young Child I look forward to your videos when you find the time!!!

I can understand Critics and people saying it's a Gen 1 blunder. However what I use it for it fits perfectly for my needs.

Just got my Pixel watch today and I've had no issues. Came already charged to 86% and I plan on charging it every night while I shower and prepare for bed. Regarding the mention of the agenda app at time stamp 4:50, while it's true you can only see three days of upcoming events, as far as adding an event, task or reminder I have already added many simply by using Google Assistant and it updates my calendar immediately. I can easily see why you wouldn't want your entire calendar on your wrist. Also, as a woman with smaller wrists, I really like the size. This is my first smart watch, upgrading from a FitBit Inspire, so it doesn't take much to wow me. I love that I can make it look like a normal watch and then get all the techy stuff just by swiping up, down or sideways. Just wish I could connect it to my hearing aids, because while I've been able to understand Google Assistant in the quiet of my home, I doubt I'd hear it, much less a phone call, in a noisy situation. I'll be lobbying for that!

Yeah definitely interesting how the phone doesn't sync with the watch when it comes to overnight notification rules and alarms.. Hopefully a software update will fix that. The other interesting thing about the email is that Outlook does let you go into the inbox on your watch, but there's no Gmail app like you've mentioned. It doesn't make sense that they would not have their own product embedded in the watch at launch. Overall it's a nice first launch with a few minor sanding down of the edges.

I'm having issues with the call quality. If you go above 50 percent the call sound becomes horrible with static and crackling noises..I've seen where others have the same issue. Hopefully this will be corrected with a update. Because it sounds awful.

I have been happy with mine (LTE option, not covered in the video; with Google fi, no extra cost to use it for calls without a phone, the eSIM was installed during setup process and that was it). No matter what watch I used in the past, I always charged it night, so battery life is not a problem to me. My mattress does better sleep tracking than any watch out there.

Thao, the background music added during the edit feels kinda off. Then again I have ADHD, but I usually never zone out of a youtube video. Usually I Love your videos!

It's been almost a week for me and the battery life has been surprisingly a little more than 24 hrs.
The tilt to wake sometimes doesn't work which is a bit frustrating but overall I am loving it!!!

I kinda miss my old Moto 360 besides all of its problems. But having to recharge a watch everyday is outrageous. I'm using an Amazfit Bip now, although doesn't have so many features, the battery life is great.

I love my pixel watch. The only complaint or issue I'm having is with my Bluetooth earbuds -- they sync perfectly for listening to music, but I still can't get the call audio to come through the earbuds, despite them being connected/paired. It comes through the watch speaker! Google was not much help, only suggesting I do a factory reset. So I've now done three -- hoping this last time corrects the problem. Any trouble on your end?
