I love this watch. With the always on display left on and tilt to wake turned off I get 36 hours of battery life. I wear ir for sleep tracking and charge it while I shower and eat in the morning. I have never come close to running out of battery life. I have the silver LTE model.

I don't get the complaints on the recent app button and the method on changing the bands. Both are so exaggerated.

And the battery life is fine, with the right settings. If you have AOD off, turn twist-to-wake on. If you have AOD on, turn twist-to-wake off. The good thing is twist-to-wake still works with incoming new notifications. With either settings, the battery life is still very similar. With AOD on, it's an extra loss of only around 0.4%/hour for me, so 4.8% over 12 hours. Lastly, turning off "Hey, Google" helps a lot as well.

These are my average battery numbers during my first 15 days:
Hours off the charger - 22.36 (and that's with sleep tracking and a 1 hour workout)
Battery remain before charging - 22.13%
Total hourly drain - 3.45%/hour
Screen always-on ON drain - 4.45%/hour
Screen always-on OFF drain - 3.96%/hour
Sleeping tracking - 2.10%/hour drain.
Estimated of total time off the charger - 29.08 hours

I considered waiting for this watch, but in the end got a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (this was before the 5 came out) and have no regrets. Love the rotating bezel on it too, I think I'd miss it on other smartwatches.

The battery is very important for most people when it comes to smart watches. I wish it had at least 2-3 days when it comes to wear os smart watches

I am enjoying my pixel watch too. I have always on turned off and tilt to wake, and get over 24 hours out of a single charge. Battery is a concern though: longer power would be better and the charging cable is not easy to find a plug for. I'm looking for to the Pixel watch 2 with interest.

If you buy the first of anything it will have some compromises, though after using this watch for just over a week, it's really nice. The notifications from apps that are not even installed on the watch are excellent and the software experience being Google is what makes it. The assistant is also another great feature. The battery life, I'm easily getting 24 hours plus. If it's this decent for the first watch the second can possibly be excellent.

Do you get targets with pixel watch like distance, pace target zone, time target and heart rate target zones while running ?

I plan to wait for G2 to go with my 6Pro. They bring said, it really depends on if they fix battery life and make a bigger version with more options. My favorite is still Sanding Gear S smartwatch.

Despite all the reviews complaining about the battery life, normally it lasts about a day and a half for me. I do set it to sleep mode when I go to bed and have AOD disabled.

Why do people complain about the battery when the apple watch has a similar battery life

I was in the Williamsburg Google store in Brooklyn yesterday. Was getting my Pixel Buds Pro with the store credit for the P7. Was looking at the Pixel Watch and was all set to get one day one.

Then I remembered the compromises they made for this. Old SoC with a very much needed co processor. Dat bezel! Then to add insult to injury the tease of 6 months of Fitbit pro. All that and everything else mentioned on this vid for the low low price of 350 usd. A Hell to the NO on that. This thing at most should have been 299 if not 250. Oh and throw in Fitbit premium permanently for buying this. As it is this DOA from the start. There are plenty of other WearOS smartwatches that are cheaper and do more than this. Google you done F’d up

I have this watch as well, but I think most if not all of the problems can be fix by a simple update i wouldn't recommend waiting or geting the next gen unless it has a bigger size for those who need it, but more than likely they will probably come out with a pro version(bigger size/battery) like they do with the phones

I'm getting this watch very soon as it came for free with the Pixel 7 Pro. I'm fully aware of all the flaws, so I'll see wether I'll enjoy the experience.
I'm optimistic about some quirks being fixed in future software updates though, That said, if I wouldn't have gotten it for free, I would've probably opted for the Galaxy Watch 5.

Fitbit premium makes no sense when competitors like Garmin provide the same features for free.

I think it's the best looking watch face; the design is very appealing to me, but other than that, I can't say, since I don't own one

Maybe is time for Android Authority to publicly release the sponsors list - just to alleviate any doubt on conflict of interest.

The design is very nice but I would be afraid of cracking the screen due to the design.

I love my Apple Watch series 8, but the pixel watch is my shit. Love them both.

10:06 that's precisely why I don't watch teasers or trailers anymore.

First generation devices all have compromises and things to improve upon in theor future generations. But the fitbit premium part is what puts me off and strongly discouraged me from getting this watch and its future generations unless Google change the premium nonsense.
