Casually explained explains being healthy and I'm thinking about the blue bananas. Describe the taste if you've tried it. I don't diet, I have no tips.

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day".. or is it?

I can confirm blue bananas do in fact taste like vanilla ice cream. Oddly smelt a little like a typical banana but tasted like ice cream, go figure.

hearing the point about it being hard to gain muscle made me remember the fact that my body is very weird. when i worked at the quarry for the summer, i stayed the same weight but lost roughly 20lbs of body fat in the 3 months i was there. then proceeded to lose that 20lbs of muscle mass over the next 3 months.
tldr: i can put on and lose weight faster than most.

The best shape I've ever been in was something like 15 years ago in my late 20's. Back then (during the '08-'09 recession) I was substitute teaching while looking for work (I had just finished my Bachelor's degree). I didn't make a ton of money, but the nearby gym was relatively inexpensive and had childcare, plus school lunch was inexpensive as well. So I had a modest breakfast, a balanced lunch, an hour (sometimes two) every weekday at the gym, and basically whatever I wanted for dinner. I *really* don't recommend being poor as a way to get into shape, but what it showed me (and what I am far too lazy to do now that I am older and work longer hours) is that a combination of eating right and getting in some physical activity really just does wonders on the body.

On a not unrelated note, this is also about the time I found out those BMI calculations at doctors offices are the biggest load of bullshit. I was in *incredible* shape during this time and I never dropped below 195 lbs. As someone who is 5' 11", that put me firmly in the 'overweight' category, even though I was healthier than I've ever been in my life.

I uses to skip breakfast every day through College....then one day I ate my cereal. I felt more awake, I had more energy to stay awake in class, and I could focus better. Haven't skipped breakfast since. Dinner usually gets skipped and supplemented with snacks ;)

In my 20s, my diet was meat, sugar, and coffee. I was always lean, but I also skated like 5-8 hours a day so I was in pretty good shape.

Now that I work and I broke myself too much to skate as hard in my 30s. I'm still in better shape than some but my diet had to change drastically. Now I have to know about nutrition and I'm still slightly overweight. Lol

you are correct about the Kelloggs slogan. I watched the 2 previous videos and just noticed the background changed

There are a few things wrong with the statements made in the video, but calories in = calories out is true. You must be in a calorie deficit to lost weight, no matter what anyone else says. the "Type" of calories matters very little depending on your goals, and the need for carbohydrates depends on the same goals. Carbohydrates are necessary for some bodily functions, including oxidizing fat itself, or providing nutrients to the liver and kidneys, but the amounts typical Americans (of which I am one) is way out of proportion. I'm not saying other countries are better at their balance, because some are obviously not, but we tend to eat more carbs than anyone. Thank you General Mills for sponsoring the "food pyramid" studies.. They worked out great.

Couldn't imagine my life without breakfast.

Wife and I own a home reno / restoration business here in NZ. We *need* the energy / nutrition for our days.

So breakfast is kinda the most important meal of the day. If you start your day with crappy simple carbs (like cereal) you have a early insulin spike and a crash by afternoon. You’ll have cravings for more crappy food to bring your blood sugar back up and cycle repeats. A balanced or no carb breakfast helps keep an even blood sugar which really helps with energy levels, cravings, mental clarity etc.

Yes, the breakfast bit is from an old article written about a century ago (that’s the way I heard it). I didn’t know it was a Kellogg’s thing though

I can think of one book recommendation related to food and nutrition. It was called "Twinky Deconstructed". iirc it was written by a journalist who was inspired by a question his daughter asked "What's a polysorbate 60"? Apparently they had just gone out for ice cream and she was reading the ingredients on the back of the wrapper. Trying to answer that for her he ends up falling into this rabbit hole of processed foods. The Twinky apparently had a little of everything he learned about so the book's chapters talk about topics related too each ingredient in the little cakes.

I have drastically reduced my sugar intake and have added more fruits and vegetables to my diet. It's a very simple way to lose weight and it's sustainable. I've heard that the best diet is one recommended for persons with hypertension.

Tbf, breakfast is food, which in turn gives you energy. Until lunch time of course.

well, i lost 50kg and kept them off.
nutrition boils down to 3 things:
1.the more carbs a food has, the less you should eat from it.(nothing is forbidden though)
2.keep it real, stay close to the source(aka tree, shrub or animal)
3.start any mealplan with a good amount of veggies.

if you have to loose a lot of weight like me, plan for it to take at least a year, read up on keto as a goal and stay at least below 100g of carbs a day.
there might be some digestive rumblings in the beginning and dont forget to eat more salt and drink fluids more regularly since the body cant store as much water on a low carb/keto diet.

Omg, for myself this one took a horrifying turn! Over half of the Amazon rainforest will be gone due to deforestation, and no more ice at the North Pole!?!
