Oh how far we've come. Yet how far we've left to go.

So for 8K gaming they moved from binary to quaternary for the data bus. The next logical step is analog data bus for ∞K Gaming.

3:52 A keyboard made with "enthusiast grade" materials...? 🤔

3:46 you can see James thinking a joke about Linus the moment his says drop

He said

AMD moved away from it in their RTX 5000 series

Instead of

RX 5000 series

EDIT: Holy moly I'm one of the top comments again! Cool! Last time this happened it was on a wan show video.

3:14 ah yes the classic AMD produced RTX 5000 series

Lol “aimed at” 8K being the key phrase.

Anybody else notice "AMD moved away from their RTX 5000 series" at 3:14 ? 😂

"60 fps at 8K' ... sure if you only want to play 2 games, and at the same time handcuff yourself to very precise settings that NVidia's marketing forced a couple of select Youtubers to run, the goal being to jam down gamers throats the night before the launch, that their 3090 can do '60fps @ 8K' ... then when the sun comes up ...
Gamers Nexus Steve "12 fps ... oh lookie ... it peaked to 14fps".

2:55 good job, I was thinking about HBM since the start. HBM is superior in many ways which is the reason I bought the Vega 56 even if it was stupid expensive back then

Try to loosen up a bit - remove that velcro that glues your arms to your sides. Explore the space, express yourself. Aim for "coked up Kermit the frog".

Thanks for disturbing my online class now instead of doing the work I’m going to watch this even if I don’t understand anything lmao

3:14 I can already see headlines be like : "AMD TAKES OVER CUSTODY OF NVIDIA AND RELEASES A 2 GEN AHEAD CARD"

For those thinking 8k is far, far away; Japan is already broadcasting in 8k. Several channels (including NHK) have been broadcasting in 8k for a few years now. The 2020 Olympics was going to be broadcast in 8k as well.

A bus transfers it's width number of bytes at once. What you're describing here is allowing two bits per physical line, which would effectively double the bus width.

Honestly if you take a closer look at the tech specs, the 3080/3090 performance boost isn't really related to GDDR6X. The Quadro cards get comparable memory bandwidth under GDDR6. The GDDR6X was meant to sell a lot of cards but it was the doubling of CUDA cores compared to the 20 series that explains the bump.

The importance goes
1. RGB
2. RGB
3. GPU Core
4. RGB
5. GPU mem
6. RGB
7. GPU power delivery

I literally bought a sapphire nitro because it’s the best RGB on a gpu by a mile hands down.

PAM4 and HBM tackle different aspects of memory speed. PAM4 increases the bandwidth of buses for moving data between chips, HBM allows more addresses in the memory to be read simultaneously. Expect to see descendants of both technologies on cards in decade, (or two years in datacenters).

That drop keyboard is actually an amazing deal. Probably the cheapest high end keyboard drop has ever made. And it comes in white. If I didn’t have a nice white mech keyboard already I would get it. Too bad I want the drop Tokyo60 in silver with holy panda switches and a set of mito xda canvas key caps and a white and silver lemo connector coiled usb c cable. Absolute beauty.
