Let's be real..

There's NO such thing as bad GPUs.
There's ONLY badly-priced GPUs.

I would like to thank Nvidia for pricing the 4070 at $600. It made it easy to choose a 6950 XT

Seeing Brett trying to sell the 4070 after bashing it two weeks ago is just sad.

I'd like to hand it to Micro Centers marketing team! THIS is how you sell overpriced overstock.

The "reality" is people want longevity and the best deal they can afford.

I believe it was Hardware unboxed, that showed how the low VRAM cards were actually losing quality in certain areas of games and other blurring etc. So when you see less used, there might be a correlation in the negative side of things.

Couldn't you argue that 2070/3070 high prices were due to miners and the acceptance of the high prices were by miners, not regular gamers? Couldn't you argue that "poorly optimized games" are the norm at this point and gamers would want to have 16gb of ram in order to future proof themselves for the future of gaming?

This take is ridiculous. The fact you're trying to sell "saving $20 over a year on electricity" is proof you're reaching HARD

I hope Nvidia didn't hold his family at gun point to make this Video 😢

This one is missing the mark. The point is not that there is a problem *now*. The point is that this VRAM issue is going to get worse. Objectively, given what developers are saying, they will need to use more and cannot spend time optimizing for lower VRAM amounts. In this scenario, having the extra VRAM headroom is going to increase the longevity of your card for future Triple-A titles. The 4070 will begin to lose out on performance for those same titles, where the 6950XT will operate at its best.

None of this is to even mention how this comparison looks when AMD actually ends up releasing a current-gen model that competes with the 4070.

The 1% and 0.1% lows on the 4070 seem to be significantly worse in most titles.
Isn't this already a symptom of running out of VRAM, or is the 4070 just a weaker GPU in general?

The 4070 is a great card... for a 60-class product.

It's insulting at $600.

What it really depends on is what games do you own? Most of my catalog is older games that I can now run at high fps with high graphical settings. Metro Exodus Enhanced edition and Cyberpunk runs even better with my RTX 4070. I generally wait for games to get cheap on Steam and that can take a couple years after release. Realistically upgrading to a upper mid range card works just fine for me. The second thing is how often do you upgrade. Honestly just having patience will save you money on the games and you’ll get high settings with newer cards. The problem is when you want things “now.” I’m in a blessed position in my life but I still try to be smart with my money. All the money I spent in my twenties on games at full price rather than being patient and playing it smart has brought me some regret. But that’s life, we learn 😂

Isn't your hypo completely proven wrong at 4k? why should I limit my options when I am shelling out 600$? 1000$ in India tbh... I think we should not affirm such behavior by Nvidia... give us more price-perf ): with/: or without more vram.... when shelling out 2500$ on my setup at this point I don't think that 60$/yr or 28$/yr in India doesn't matter at all to most gamers.. your review sounds biased unfortunately.

*Some PPL* in comments are saying that a build would cost 1200$ 😂🤯 look at this fyi - how exactly? 1000$ + 550$ (7800x3d) cpu + 120$ psu (1000w/gold)+ 120$ (2tb ssd) + 200$ motherboard + 120$ ram (16 gb ddr5) + 120$ case + 400$ monitor + 200$ accessories + etc....

Clearly crossing 3000$

Tell me you've been paid by Nvidia/Microcenter to push 4070s, without telling me you've been paid by Nvidia/Microcenter to push 4070s.
Jokes aside the 4070 is in no way a good decision to EVER buy over $400. You can get way more performance with AMD and get their top of the line card, for cheaper than this card.

You have to check image quality, because some engines might be sending low resolution textures not to go over ram.

$599 for basically a 4060 is the problem and other than a small mention near the end that the '4070' should be about $100 less, I felt this video kind of missed the point on why everyone is upset.

*“Hey buddy, looks like your $100, 000 cashiers check has been sent. You better start simping that 4070 now!”*

I find it disappointing of you that you rip into Nvidia and this card for a while now, yet here you are trying to justify Nvidia's decisions.
Other big channels like Hardware Unboxed have already shown that lower VRAM capacity and bandwidth will be problems, as cards like the 3070 are aging poorly now when compared to the 6800 non-XT and up in newer titles. People aren't simply looking at the here and now, they are looking into the future, where they want their tech to perform at least acceptable for the price they paid - said price that Nvidia is upcharging you on, because both AMD and Nvidia realized they can just get away with it after the mining craze.
