If you think Don is a bad ass (which he is), you should see his son DJ Shipley. He was. Team 6/DEVGRU Operator with some absurd number of tours, and sustained numerous injuries, yet still kept going back. He is one of the most legit badasses I’ve ever seen.

I first heard of Don Shipley because of an episode of 'American Greed'.

He was featured on an episode based on a guy by the name of Antonio Marriot Wilson/"Brice Carrington" from late-2022 by the name of 'Financial Infidelity'.

This is shameful. My father was a vet, did recon stuff in Vietnam and had one thing in common with most vets I've known who saw combat. He DIDN'T talk about it. He only started to open up the last year of his life. When I got his transcripts from the military, I saw his credentials and clearances. The sad part of this all is that these men often don't even get support from the VA. These men paid their dues and it's disgusting that others want to bask in stolen glory and valor.

I think another damaging thing people who claim to have been members of elite groups do is that thier lies and often thier life choices unfairly cast a cloud of dishonor over very honorable organizations ( such as the con artist who you featured taking advantage of investors ). The reason these people pose as Navy SEALS is because they’re ashamed of what they really did in the Navy. I spent twenty years in the navy and retired. I saw a lot of people who thought they were failures for enlisting in the Navy because they thought they had failed in the civilian world. They always tried to puff themselves up to their fellow shipmates until you questioned them for what they were doing in the Navy if they had it so good in the civilian world.

I met a "secret" guy. He was 86 years old, named Jim Fletcher, and an early recruit into what became OSS 101 in Burma in WW2. Mister Fletcher was 100 feet tall. He was a real bad-ass, a real gentleman, and an all-around pleasant person. He had bad neighbors and I confronted them, and when I thought I was going to get shot, 4 SOF guys showed up in his driveway. They did not have side-arms (I did), but they were fixated and really fucking angry.. they drug people moved out that week. Yay SOF guys. RIP, Jim Fletcher.
