I worked in Kenya as a driller for a couple of years and I had all traditional Maasai working on the rig. I was invited to a traditional Maasai wedding and was apparently the first white person to go to one since the 1950s. It was in 1996. I had to travel about 2 hours from the Maasai Mara which joins the Serengeti. The councillor who represents the Maasai in parliament wasn’t happy at all about it but the chief and groom the chiefs son allowed it and they were happy they did as I gave them a wedding present equaling about 2 years wages and it was his third wife. I had photos taken with his beautiful 3 wives who were bare breasted and only wore beads. The groom wore his leather armour for hunting lions on. It was a magical day

My wife is Kenyan, I showed her this video. She laughed and said, “There are no Maasai in Mali.” She went on to say, “That’s all BS, there was/is nothing special about the Maasai, except they do quite the business in the Mara taking people on safari tours.” ..which is in South Kenya, it’s the northern part of the Serengeti, which is in Tanzania. The Maasai originated in South Sudan and migrated to Kenya, which is where they are mostly located, with a small population in northern Tanzania.

I have older tribes in Africa, the Maasai are the least likely to be a hidden tribe, because they are nomadic and constantly come into contact with all other tribes on their nomadic wanderings, looking for pasture for their animals.
