When I got my first period, my school nurse said “Congrats honey your a woman now!” And I literally said; “Nurse(name), I am going to be *bleeding* for the next 40 years of my life and your saying ‘congrats’? even though i have only had like 60 some hours of experience on my period, I have gathered one tip:

be open to your mom, aunt, grandma, great grandma, feminine guardian (even your school nurse or counselor)

because if you don't tell them what's going on...well...it's gonna get like a thousand times harder, especially if it's y'all first time
