Loud and rowdy cars may have been seen as something of a niche concept in the approach to the millennium, but it didn’t take long to become thoroughly mainstream. In this episode, we explore the world of JDM at the peak of 1990s car culture.

We revisit the Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline and Mazda RX7 in this episode - but which JDM car ignited your love for the scene?

I'm a nissan fanboy who especially loves an R32, but that FD is GORGEOUS. and I got into cars as a kid in the early 90s but it was all classic muscle cars. it took Initial D to turn me into a JDM lover and an S14 owner.

Im from Northern Ireland and have always had an interest in the Japanese car scene, when i seen some of these cars driving around 20 years ago i remember telling myself how id own a skyline + rx7 + impreza some day.

Unfortunately the prices have made much of this stuff unrealistic to purchase for me but i did manage to get myself another nice Subaru Blobeye a year ago.

The guy i bought it off had only owned it for a few months and had purchased it from a guy in Scotland. After owning the car for 5 days i went for a bite to eat one evening at a local country pub, when i pulled up outside i seen a guy checking out my new car. I walked into the bar and ordered a drink then 3 Scottish guys came in and asked who was driving the subaru.

I told them it was mine and they said it was actually their friend Stevens old car from back in Scotland. Pretty random i
As weird as that was it got even stranger when they told me that Steven was actually staying in a B&B about 200ft away!

I couldn't miss the chance to go talk to the former owner of my Subaru and the guy Steven was super friendly and knowledgeable about the car history. Think he was genuinely pleased to see the car again. He had a beautiful evo 5/6 and had recently got himself an rx7 so could'nt really keep the subaru also so told me that was why he sold it to a guy in Northern Ireland.

This is the guy Steven in this video with his absolutey stunning RX7, very strange to just put a random YouTube video on and see him again lol.

Was a very random meeting but a glad i got the chance to meet someone who once owned and cared for the car i now drive.

I don't think people realise what it'll be like when all these are gone / force to be scrapped. We'll lose a lot more than a few cars that's for sure
