Thanks Gjeebs. Noteworthy that this does not apply to the LFP batteries in the Model 3 RW drive. Tesla recommends those be charged to a 100% ~ once a week.

LFP Model 3s should be charged to 100% at least once a week.

LFP models can and are recommended to charge to 100%. You can tell if your car has a LFP battery by checking the charger screen, and it does not say "trip" from 90 to 100.

If your vehicle is equipped with an LFP Battery, Tesla recommends that you keep your charge limit set to 100%. Straight from tesla lfp will degrade if not charged to 100 so if you have standard range charge to 100

Should clarify that this only applies to some Teslas, LFP is designed to charge to 100%

I only fill my gas tank to 80% capacity because letting it sit at 100% will put more pressure on the tank.

LFP batteries should be charged to 100%. See your owners manual.😊

Wow, soooo many opinions on how to best manage the car battery, but I didn't see any commentary on the BMS of the car. Why should it require recalibration on a weekly basis?

what about Tesla with LFP battery? Should it be charged to 100% everyday ? Can you give some inputs, please?

How did you measure the pressure in the batteries ?

More pressure?!
It doesn’t hurt the battery it just reduces its life expectancy over the life of the vehicle.
Not sure about Tesla but with Hyundai EVs (and some others) there is a usable portion of the full battery. In other words charging to a 100% is on on the usable portion of the battery which could be 95% of the actual battery.
I have been charging my 2017 Ioniq to full for the past 7 years and i still have 100% battery health.
But i do this with level 1 at 1.3KW.

What do you mean made a mistake charging? Do you sit and wait for your car to charge to the right level and unplug at just the right time ?? Did you fall asleep waiting.

Hey Gjeebs, I took delivery of my 2024 Model Y LR this past Sunday. Is it supercharging detrimental to your battery's health until you can get a charge installed at your house?

I was doing this every other day when I first got it.. I drive about 50 mins to work then 50 mins home so I lose a lot of charge.. Should I be charging everyday at home to 80%??

How long do the batteries last on these things? And how much does it cost to replace. I know hybrid batteries only last 10 years max

Thanks Gjeebs as well for great context and wisdom!! I can’t charge at home just yet. However I have convenient Supercharger 2.3 miles from me. My question is this normal, I lost 3% overnight. Parked at night around 11:32 pm 79% and this morning 6:50am 6:45a. Per your suggestion cabin overheat off, sentry off as well. Is they lost normal or abnormal man?

Gotta watch out when that pressure builds up electricity is like water to much compression makes the battery bludgeoned out

How do you know if you have a LFP battery? I have a 2023 Y
