I’ve said this as more and more companies go electronic, there’s probably going to be a point when either the industry or government will say something to the effect of make one universal plug for all vehicles

This is the best video I have seen yet that describes how charging works for electric vehicles.

Imagine If each manufacturer had a different size of gasoline fillers! This needs to be regulated and standardized.

I got a Lectron adapter for my 7700 mile road trip around the US in my 2020 Chevy Bolt last year. As you mentioned it came in very handy at hotels. I found significantly more hotels with Tesla destination chargers than J1772 chargers, and the Tesla chargers were always free. Great product for road trips for sure.

I can put gas in my car at any gas station because all gas pumps are the same. This should also be true for ev chargers.

I'd buy a TeslaTap, it's the same price, safety certified (UL listed), and made in the USA.

Have a Tesla wall charger at home and just picked up the new Kia EV6. The first thing I ordered was this adapter. When I first plugged it in, the car said charging failed. As I was trying to figure out why, it all of a sudden started charging. Guess sometimes it just takes a few minutes to make the connection. Definitely a good buy. Thanks for your video.

Yes, with the low-power charger you can get an adapter. But what tesla said about "open up" is their supercharger network, not just a low-power adapter. Cannot believe that Lectron didn't even give you guys a discount code, lol.
Also, would you pls ask Lectron a question: can they add some way on the tesla end to lock it to the tesla charger? I know the J1772 end would lock to the car, but if a tesla owner pulled up to the Tesla charger at a hotel, and saw someone other than another tesla using their charger, and decided to unplug you to charge theirs, is there a way to prevent people from doing that?

Just ordered my Volvo C40. I was very nervous about access to chargers and this helped a ton. While there are quite a few non-Tesla chargers around, having this option will be great. Just need one for the super chargers and we’ll be all set! Thanks for the video and the link to the product.

The Tesla owners are gonna love this! ;)

Been waiting for a dongle of some sort to make things more universal...after all electrons are electrons. I can't wait until everyone gets onboard with a standard plug.

This was a great video. I've got a Mach-E on order and charging around me is limited to 2 non-Tesla charging ports, though I've got a level 2 installed in my garage. With Tesla dragging their feet (understandably so) about opening their superchargers to non-Tesla owners, this attachment helps at least plan better routes around the Midwest for road tripping until superchargers ultimately get opened for all.

A very helpful video, my question is do you need to use the tesla app to use teslas DC charging station? Or do you just use the adaptor and plug it into your car, and you’re good to go?

US need to do what Europe as done and specify a standard charging port like the CSS. Tesla now allow none Teslas to charge at their super chargers in the Netherlands too...

I already got the small Lectron Tesla-J1772 adapter, the one without the wire betwen the two ends of adapter, and it's work perfectly with my 2022 Bolt EUV and many time I can recharge at 8 Kw and more dependly if the Tesla destination charger is on a 48 A circuit, so I can get 11.5 Kw of charge because the 2022 Bolt can take up to 11.5 Kw of charge instead of the majority of EV that can hand 7, 5 Kw max!

Great advertorial! These are also good when the J1772 is broken or blocked and the Tesla is available. It will reduce waiting times.
