The stories really make me miss Eddie. It's true about the singer impersonations. I remember one night
on the bus Eddie singing some George Jones and then Dean Martin, complete with the drunkin mannerisms
and nailed them both! Hugely talented guy, and very missed

I love rainy nights, too, the excitement of thunder/lightening, possibly, and just the soothing sounds of the rain. This song got me up, dancing, again, and I'm 67! :- )

I loved hearing this story about the late, great Eddie Rabbitt. I wish I could find more of them.

I did a tap dance to I Love a Rainy Night when I was 11. I had to have heard that song hundreds of times. I NEVER got sick of it. I still love it.

“Rainy Night” is one of my favorite country songs. The guitar solo is one of the best ever created. Who the heck played that? I’ve been researching and trying to find out who.

The song takes me back to when I was little. As a kid, having somebody older, that's not a popstar sing a song is somehow just so grown-up and classy and fancy. You imagine people dressed up (in this case pressed jeans, a shirt and a nice sweater for the men, preppy lady dressed like Blair Warner, early 80s style). And you imagine them going out for dinner and drinks and dancing with friends. I miss those simple days when people still had class, men looked like men and women looked like women. Now women dress and look like Booger from Revenge of the Nerds and Popeye with all their ugly tattoos.

I love that song & Eddie. I love hearing his friends talk about Eddie & the songs history. Looking bad now he resembled Cat Stevens. Chris Cornell also looked like Eddie a bit.

How many other great country stars were born in Brooklyn?

I think the interviewer had I Love a Rainy Night confused with Drivin my life away.
