The song 'Stan' is not about a mega fan that goes CRAZY.
Stan used to be Em's Best friend, this is proven to a picture in the music video, where Stan sticks a picture of Em on a picture of them when they were younger. (in the song) and Stan is also his biggest fan, because they grew up together. What Stan meant by 'be together' is that they should rap and make songs with eachother.

Ah Stan is a song about a dude who LOVES Eminem as a rapper, but Em won’t respond to his letters and stuff. So he’s mad and stuff and his wife divorces him over his Eminem obsession. So Stan drives like a madman and flies off a bridge. Em writes the letter to Stan a few days later, but he sees on the news as he’s writing, Stan was found dead in the river in his car. Really disturbing.

This freaked out Michael Jackson a lot until she started to go too far. He made a song which the song’s name is Billie Jean. “ Billie Jean is not my lover. She’s just a girl.” And “Her kid is not my son” claiming that he is not her lover and her kid is not his. after his song released, he got a letter. Apparently, the woman was mental insane and is gone to a mental hospital.
