People always miss the fact Hares dont dig. Bunnies dig and hide their children underground. But hares raise their babies above ground. Burying them is a more sinister line.

The fact that the message also reflects one of the aspects of Filipino family culture. Makes sense, the singer was a Filipino. ❤❤❤

Actually, Yaelokre / Keath’s Mother is Filipino, and the Father is Icelandic ! So that doesn’t just make Yaelokre / Keath Filipino, but also makes them half Filipino and half Icelandic ! Part Filipino, Part Icelandic . and in one of they’re songs “Birdcage Blue and Yellow”, they set the outro lyrics to the Filipino and Icelandic language ! Which is “Finndu mig í framtíðinni“ (Icelandic) “Malayang maya ! Malayo-layo !” (Filipino) and “Rödd eins og bjalla, heldur okkur öruggum, frá framtíðinni” (icelandic) . The Filipino part was sang by the Character’s Peregrine / Perrine and Kingsley ! And the Icelandic part was sang by Cole and Cleménte / Clementine / Clemmie ! Yaelokre / Keath voice all of these character’s ! I am a fellow Yaelokre fan, if you haven’t heard or listened to they’re music, go listen to it ! Trust me, it’s amazing .

The one line that alway gets me in this song is "Like your heart that was so eager to be hid." While I have no idea if it was meant to be interpreted this way, I know many over protective mothers are children of mothers who didn't protect them enough, and this line feels like a window into the hare's own childhood, when she wished her mother would have hid her from the dangers of the world.

"You cant keep them all caged, they will fight and run away."

"You cant keep them all safe they will die and be afraid"

It all makes sense now

I actually didn’t know Yaelokre was Filipino! When you mentioned it, I was like, “FILIPINO PALA SIYA??” 🥲

Yes and the line “where have you buried all your children” is a more sinister line then most people realize. Hares don’t hide or bury their children underground, bunnies do. Hares raise their baby’s above ground . So this can be taken as the mother is so protective and controlling of the kids they feel she is practically “burying” them or keeping them from outside freedom, and the outside world.

My mom was like this. She even made up a rule that I shouldn't make any friends. She kept me inside for most of my childhood. One time, I did make a friend in school. She got really mad. She said, "only I can love you". "Ppl don't mean sh*t" "You're all that I have." "You're a traitor to the family."

I felt this pressure to not disappoint her again. I internalized all of her lies about ppl. Especially about my community (I'm biracial who has a yt mom.) I became a very isolated, self hating child who was distrustful to everyone around me. Soon, i began to even distrust my mom. When i found out that everything she said or did was to have conplete & utter control over me, my identities & the way i interact with the world because she saw me an object. I knew from then on that our relationship wasn't mother & child but owner & object. Now, I'm 26 years old. Soon to be 27. I'm going back to therapy by the end of this week.

Yaelokre is actually part Icelandic, part Filipino! They have both of the national languages of Iceland and the Philippines featured in their most recent song ^^ I absolutely ADORE Yaelokre, their music, and their passion for their characters. 💗

As someone who has a fillipino mother this song is the definition on my relation with her. Except my mom sometimes threatens leaving me and the rest of my family to go back to the Philippines.

True protection is preparing your children for life because you can’t protect them forever

The harpy, the hare, and the hound, the next song following “harpy hare” is “and the hound” which is about how revenge is a meaningless venue and in context of the folklore behind the harpy, the hare, and the hound and the two songs back to back, it paints a vivid story that even the simplest of thinkers can enjoy. Harpy hare and the hound is honestly an artistic composition that deserves more recognition cuz I haven’t heard anything about it in awhile till now
