The Christmas episode with Lily Tomlin and Ed Asner as the Ghosts in the Mansion was one of my all time favorites. Something special about that one.

This is my all time favorite show, been a huge fan of The X-Files since I was 12 when it first aired in the early 90's, around late 1993, early 1994 in Australia, I own the entire series on Blu-ray and have purchased it multiple times on different formats, I have watched the entire series around 6-7 times and constantly love rewatching it, the writing, direction, acting performances, cinematography, editing, and music score are all top notch, every episode is like a mini movie.

Back then, if you missed the airing of a TV show, you missed it, unless you could find somebody who taped it on VHS. There was no on-demand streaming like today. So you didn't miss it, or programmed your VCR to tape it if you knew you were going to miss it. It was agony to be at the office on Monday and not able to join the conversations about the episode, so you really couldn't miss it. There was one week where I damn near cut my thumb off working with some power tools a few hours before X-Files air-time. My first thought was "Looks like I'm spending my Sunday in the emergency room", and the immediate next thought was "well I better program the VCR to tape it in case I don't make it back in time" lol

I was 14 when the show debuted. My mother and I never missed an episode of the first 3 seasons. It was our shared love at the time. I have very fond memories of those days. I go back and rewatch the show from time to time. It's such a nostalgia trip for so many reasons. Seeing all of the famous faces, and the show was a pop culture giant. Its influence was everywhere

One of the first writers, directors and executive producers of the X Files was Vince Gilligan. He actually wrote the Home episode and went on to create another iconic tv show, Breaking Bad.
The X Files had such an influence on ‘90’s pop culture that people would go out later on Friday nights, so they wouldn’t miss the X Files.
Absolutely loved it and it still remains one of my top five favorite shows of all time!
Great job Minty!

Chris Carter stated that Kolchak: The Night Stalker was his primary influence for creating The X-Files. That's why he had Darren McGavin as a guest star on the show.

The X Files was my "go to" TV show. It had everything I like, the paranormal, plus whether they liked each other in real life or not, you have to agree that the chemistry between Mulder & Scully was fantastic! You cannot fake that, either it's there, or it's not. My favorite episode was called "BLOOD". Thank you, Chris Carter for The X- Files, and hope to possibly see it again!!!

God those first few seasons were just plain awesome. It stumbled a bit toward the end but it will always be a genre-defining classic.

The X-files wasn't just IN the 90's..., the X-files WAS the 90's. I recently rewatched the whole show and even though I loved it at the time I enjoyed it on a whole new level and it was so fun spotting those guest stars' faces that are now so familiar. My favourite episode was Bad Blood, which you mentioned, but I never twigged that it was Luke Wilson. What I meant to say in your recent community post is that it's great that you show so much love for shows and movies that are nostalgic for so many of us, it's why we love your channel. But perhaps the algorithm is looking for newer and more topical references. The trouble is modern media is dire. We're all sending our love and thanks to you, we hope you keep going but most of all we hope that you enjoy doing what you do.

I love the X-Files. A healthy and respectful relationship between men and women is exactly what TV needs today.

Thanks Minty. Great episode. As a 90's kid as well, I remember this as being one of the quintessential "have to be home at a certain time to watch" shows. Heck, I bet you remember having every day of the weeks day and time mapped out for all of your favorite shows like the rest of us 90's kids did! Keep up the great work, and thanks again mate. Your true fans really appreciate you.❤👊

“We’ll always have that magic from the 90s” seems to apply to a lot of things these days

I love the episode in which Scully picks up a man to spend the weekend with, but he hears the voice of his tattoo compelling him to get wild. Featuring Jodie Foster as the voice of the tattoo.

A Minty video on The X-Files? But, Minty, it's not even Christmas yet!

I've rewatched this show many times over, and it's still one of my all-time favorites. Pretty much every single sci-fi or horror show that's come out in the last 30 years has been influenced by The X-Files. Still one of the best written, directed, and acted shows ever. Thanks to this video, I think that I'll have to have another rewatch before the end of the year. Thank you for all of the fantastic content, Minty!

I loved X-Files. The show also taught me a few things about the limits of TV shows and what happens when they want to continue forever (spoilers: diminishing returns). Rewatching the first two seasons reminded me of how powerful the show was in its early days.

The X-Files was magical. I was in the 4th grade when season 1 first debuted. I remember talking with one of my classmates every week about last nights episode and what could be next. We both loved that show and were so excited and could not wait to talk about it the next day.

I was just out of high school when the show started. I loved it so much!! Because it filmed where I live, I used to go around to the filming locations regularly. They also filmed a lot at my uni! Good times!

Man I loved this show back in the day. When people actually watched TV at the end of the day.
