lol the get famous trailer was such a piss take compared to the actual pack

As someone who plays heavily with this pack I think they missed a lot of opportunities to expand on this pack. For instance, I think singing and dancing(not party dancing like in get together but choreographed dance should've came with this pack instead of city living and their should've been an option to be a singer or form a band. Could've allowed us to be a dancer to. The pack is get famous and the only ways you can get famous are being an actor, influencer, painter or author(which is base game) and that's it if you don't have any other packs. I really think they could've expanded more on the ways people get famous which is why I think singing and dancing should've been apart of this pack. One of the biggest let downs were the fans. I wish they allowed your sims to become stans of celebrities. It would've been cool to have a stan interaction sadly it wasn't implemented.The award shows are a buggy mess nobody stays sitting and sims will resort to sitting on the floor instead of sitting in an empty seat. Sims also tend to change seats. Other than that the award shows look so empty and more like a get together. I guess It makes sense considering the award show would be atrocious with so many sims not sitting down, but then again in this same pack they have the actor building with many more sims and it works fine. A big problem I have with this pack though is the celebrities showing up everywhere. Judith Ward is the worst offender where she will literally show up to willow creek. I wish they made it so that celebrities were more likely to stay in del sol valley. Overall, not the worst sims pack by any means. I even occasionally enjoy playing with it, but it definitely showcases it's weakness when I'm trying to tell a story and I can't because they couldn't bother to implement it in the game. It should not take me having 3 expansion packs to make an idol group.

Del sol valet is the biggest map letdown. LA is so densely populated and they chose to give us 4 lots, the majority of which are mansions/beverly hills

You hit the nail on the head with the "hot spot" location traits. Like what is the point of them if celebrities like Judith Ward and Britani Choi are just going to show up to random "nowhere" bars and nightclubs, where they cause everything to stop which is super annoying. My sims trying to dance the night away, but can't because the DJ has stopped performing to stare at Judith.

I remember in Sims 1 when if you got too famous you’d acquire a stalker and there was no way to ever get rid of them. 😂😢😬

I just bought this pack on sale, and I must say.. its the first time since the Sims 2 I wanted to play all day. I really love the gameplay in this one. Of course, it could be better. But all in all, I genuinely enjoy it.

Such a fun expansion idea poorly executed, love your honest take on it! I always think it's hilarious when you point out that they forget something essential to the gameplay like toilets on a lot or another video had steps leading up without a door. It's crazy that a game like this with such a massive company makes these mistakes. I don't think it's nostalgia but wow growing up with the sims 1, 2 and 3 is so eye opening to how this series is in a disarray. I like the art style but gameplay in the other entries had so much more personality

I spend a lot of time with this pack and yeah it could have more careers like director, photographer, actor, model, fashion designer, stylist, singer, make up artist, dancer, music group or band…I think we could have more careers could be cool. But well the world could be better but I like it. Is so extra some parts of this expansion and also loooove the fur fashion parts

Even though Del Sol Valley SUCKS as a town, Get Famous is one of my favorite packs. Lol It came with so much gameplay and the build items are so much fun! I always get my sims to marry Thorne or Dirk 😂❤️

Get famous is one of my favorite packs but its not worth the price. Its like a very good game pack but doesnt warrant an expansion.

For that we would need:

- actual gossip and scandals (also gossip magazines would be nice)

- more active careers (modeling, singer/performer).

I play get famous quite a bit, it’s lacking in all aspects but city living + get famous with a lil realm of magic for spells and potions is the perfect combo.

This is actually one of my favorite EPs, up there with Get to Work.
Running a shop as a celebrity I felt brought in more customers 😅 And I tend to use the build/buy alot (except all the stupid movie set props, things along that line)

But I would say this pack is still pretty bare bones in comparison to Sims 1 Superstar (also a fav of mine)

I would honestly recommend the mod Road to Fame alongside with Get Famous if you're on PC! Made being a celebrity more fun imo

I know its an unpopular opinion but i actually love the cheaper neighborhood in del sol valley because ive lived in California my whole life and that is the only neighborhood in the game that truly reflects my real life neighborhood. Like theres a big alley behind the houses, theres some trash around, the shell houses have like trailers and sailboats or whatever in their backyards, the road and sidewalk looks kinda busted, it all truly makes me feel at home because those are such familiar sights to me. The weather is also accurate to my town since it doesnt snow and its usually pretty warm. So for those reasons, i do have my sims live there but the rest of the world is meh. The mansions area is nice looking but the premade builds have to be demolished ✋
