Please do not cover your burns in butter. That is actually dangerous. If you get a severe burn, please run it under room temperature water for about twenty minutes. If it is severe enough then please seek medical attention. Do not put butter on your burns.

When I was pregnant for my youngest son, I had an employer go into the bathroom after I threw up from severe morning sickness and they "checked" for a smell and toilet splatter to make sure I actually vomited. Later my son was born 2 months premature and they asked me to return to work now instead of later since he wouldn't be at home for me to take care of him for a couple of months. I quit.

In the 80s I worked in a coffee shop that specialized in pies and every night we had pies left over but they were always fresh the next day so the boss made an arrangement with a local homeless shelter that we would put the pies in a cabinet out the back door. That was her way of disposing of them but at the end of the night the homeless shelter would come by and collect those pies to be able to serve them so that was the way they got around handing it in being directly responsible to the shelter. It’s too bad people don’t do things like that anymore

As a nurse, please, please, please don’t ever put butter on a burn as the fat in the butter continues to cook the skin. Run the burned area under cold water and, if severe, make an ice pack wrap it in a tea towel, place it on the affected area and go to hospital for treatment.

That’s normal when working in restaurants. I was working at a seafood place and a huge box of frozen crab legs fell and landed on my shoulder. They wouldn’t let me go to the ER. I dealt with it for 2 years. Went to a chiropractor and he said your shoulder has been dislocated all this time!! Oh and the injury form I had filled out at the restaurant somehow disappeared!
