This is how you can manually move Computers and Devices that join your domain to Organizational Units (OU) in Active Directory(AD) in Windows Server 2022. This allow us to apply Group Policy Objects (GPOs to clients systematically based on the AD structure. In my future demonstrations, I will show you how you can automate this process using a PowerShell script.

This demonstration uses Windows Server 2022 with Windows 11 Professional end client. But the principles are same for Windows Server 2012 through 2022 (Windows Server 2022 / 2019 / 2016 / 2012). There are no GUI differences among most of the pervious versions of Windows Servers. The enforced GPO settings will work on Windows 10 and previous versions of client Operating Systems connected to the domain.

This is how a admin can move Computers and Devices to OUs manually. You can automate this process using a PowerShell script and I will demonstrate that process in my future videos.

Hi, is there an option that something can go wrong when moving user from one OU to another?
I mean: any problems with synchronization for example in Azure AD or user will just have temporal issues with logging into computer etc?
